Littleport and District Pony Club

22/05/2024

💔 It is with the deepest regret and saddest of hearts that we have to write this post.
After much deliberation and many times of trying to find another way, our District Commissioner, Darryl Preston, The Committee and Area 8 representatives, have finally found no alternative but to close Littleport and District branch of The Pony Club with immediate effect. Our members and instructors have previously been informed and thanked accordingly.
As I'm sure many of you are aware, it has been an enormous struggle for us this past year, and we have endeavoured to do our very best to maintain the continuation of the club. Sadly, with reduced member numbers, it was just no longer viable. We have worked tirelessly to maintain the inclusive and friendly club we all know and love, and are eternally grateful for everyone who has made it so over the years.
We have so enjoyed our roles within the club, and have loved seeing the joy it has brought the children and hope they've made some friends for life. We are truly heartbroken.

The Committee, lead by Darryl, would like to convey our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has taught, donated, volunteered time, or brought children to rallies in all weather's, in the past 54 years, it will never be forgotten.

Moving forward, we are forming with Soham and District, and any assets the club has will be passed over. If you find you are in possession of anything belonging to the club, please do get in touch so we can do a full stock-take before closing down.

Please feel free to leave any photos or memories in the comments below, I'm sure we'd all love to see them 🖤💛

Well, what a camp that was! Think '23 was up there as one of the BEST EVER!
Children were delightful, ponies were amazing, and the weather was completely on our side!! 🌞🌞

But, as ever, the whole thing would be an awful lot harder without the support given to the club by our sponsors, and this year we were spoilt!
Many thanks to
Johnson and Scott Ltd - Veterinary Clinic, G's, Community at Tesco Ely, Enhance Dental Clinic, Equicentric Ltd, Amy Blair Equine & Country Photography, PizzaExpress and Rumbles fish bar of littleport .

We would also like to express thanks to Poppy Sewell from Dodson & Horrell, Amy Stone from Equine Products UK, and the fab team from FM Polo Academy for a super afternoon with the children.

Lastly, but by no means least, huge thanks to our host Tina Ure at Ely Eventing Centre .

We have good news! Tesco have lowered the amount you need to spend on groceries to get a donation from £70 to £50.

You can raise a £3.50 donation on your first Tesco Groceries order and a £1.75 donation for every order after. It's an easy and FREE way to help Littleport and District Pony Club raise funds with your Tesco shop! Note T&C’s below :-

https://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/littleportpc

Donations may initially track at zero but will be amended before being paid.
Orders placed on the Tesco app will not generate a donation. Please order via the Tesco website
The minimum basket value in order to raise a donation is £50
The donation value is based on the first basket value of the sale and not further order amendments i.e. "placeholder" orders made to reserve delivery slots will not qualify for a donation if lower than the minimum £50 spend condition
For new customer donations, Tesco Groceries will use your email, home and delivery address to confirm that you are a new customer.

Thank you to Lorna Brokenshire-Dyke of Rossdales Veterinary Surgeons for a very interesting and informative talk on colic and colic surgery. Lorna was once a member of LDPC herself so it was lovely to welcome her back 💛🖤💛🖤
