SHGP Media has started uploading a few good videos to his YouTube Channel recently, all edited from clips taken at our Ely & District MRC Sat 16th May 2026 Exhibition. Each video focuses on one particular layout, for example 'Central Works' is embedded below. Check out his channel for more layout content from our show.

Note: Our 2027 Exhibition will be on Sat 15th May - we are always the third Saturday in May. Save the date!

UPDATED: Thank you to everyone who came to our exhibition on Sat 16th May 2026.

The adult public vote for Best Layout was won by Bottom of the Barrel. Congratulations on receiving the Malcolm Hine Memorial Tankard! Very well deserved.

The pictures show how unique this lovely little layout is and it would have certainly made dear Malcolm smile as he sure liked his ale! 😎

The (very close!) runner up was Braughing and Stanton. Central Works came third.

In the children’s vote it was a very close run thing too. Donnersbachkogel got a lot of votes but in the end Bottom of the Barrel was the winner.

Shows going well so far. One layout seems to have a wiring problem - but we hope they can sort that out soon. 🤞

Here is a new video we are showing on the big screen in the main hall of the Exhibition all about the Club as we approach our 50th Anniversary year (we were formed in Nov 1976).

1-2 years of planning by the team comes to fruition this weekend. Got the hire van. Next stop is to get the tables & crowd barriers loaded into it - with help!

Our 46th Exhibition in Ely is TOMORROW! We are open 10am - 4.30pm.

We've received a query about bringing dogs to the Exhibition. This is on the posters already (reminder attached) and as you can see NO DOGS are allowed on the school site, except official Guide/Assistance Dogs. This is the policy of Ely College and it's in the terms and conditions of our hire agreement that we strictly adhere to it. Thanks for your co-operation.

Locals (& anybody driving around Ely’s main trunk routes) will have seen our yellow signs went up on Thursday at key locations (as always, with the necessary prior approval from Cambs Highways).

We’ve also put our banner up outside the entrance to Ely College - wearing gloves & after a bit of hedge trimming of the brambles that claimed copious amounts of blood from our Treasurer’s hands when we did it last year! 😳

I’ve also been in the Ely pubs I frequent and asked them to put posters up - well, someone has to do it! 😉

Not long to go now until our Annual Model Railway Exhibition, our Club’s 46th in Ely as the Club approaches its 50th Anniversary year.
