To all of the women who are fighting to squash Trans rights, you are helping to push that first domino and your rights won't be far behind. We've seen this many times throughout history, including N**i Germany and sadly, Trump's America. Those in power who want to control you absolutely will not stop at just Trans rights... this is a slippery slope. Stand together, stand against those who are truly trying to erase women, because it is not Trans people!🏳️‍⚧️

Today, Ely Pride mourns the lives of all 363 transgender people taken by murder and su***de between 1 October 2024 and 30th September 2025. We mourn too the 15 (at time of writing) lives lost in this TDOR period, since October 1st 2025. 

The painful truth is that this statistic is likely considerably higher, with victims lost in reporting; we also hold space for those who are mourned falsely under their deadnames. We recognise that the intersections of racism, transmisogyny, colonialism and anti-sex-work attitudes disproportionately impact the victims. 

We invite you to join us at Cannon Green this Sunday at 4pm in a candle-light vigil in their memory and honour.

Thanks to Ely Cathedral who are once again showing their support of this year's Ely Pride Event. If you are visiting for pride and looking for something to do today or Sunday go give them a visit.

🌈 This Saturday we will be illuminating our Octagon Tower in rainbow colours to support Ely Pride in recognition of all the work they do in promoting awareness, positive education and creating a safer environment for the local LGBTQ+ community.

Ely Pride takes place at Amherst Field, Bridge Road, Ely on Saturday, from 10am – 9.30pm.

We were honoured to be invited to march yesterday with Norwich Pride and to proudly walk under the Trans Flag - the atmosphere was absolutely amazing! Thank you for such an amazing day, to everyone at the team involved in bringing such an enormous event to life!

Ely Pride 2025 is on August 9th, 10am to 10pm and free to enter - £3 parking all day on-site!
