Ely's Xmas Toy Bank Ely's toy donation scheme is back, to help struggling families give their children gifts this Xmas.

Toybank will be back for Christmas 2026. And we’re already preparing.

We’re so grateful for the extraordinary generosity of our community and the dedication of our volunteers, who together made Toybank possible for so many families last year. As the need continues to grow, our team is taking time to strengthen how Toybank operates, so that we can serve local families well, with care, dignity, and fairness.

Over the coming months, we’ll be working more closely with local schools, churches, and partner organisations, and we’ll also be inviting more volunteers to join the team. Toybank has always been a partnership between church and community partners and volunteers, and we’re committed to building something sustainable that truly supports those who need it most.

Ely’s Christmas Toy Bank 2025 is now closed and we cannot accept any more gifts or supply any more presents.

Our aim when we started 4 years ago was to bring the joy of Christmas to children in need.

What we’ve achieved this year:

1. We estimate well over 750 children will receive gifts from the Toy Bank this Christmas. For some, living in struggling families (i.e. those we were trying to support), these might be the only presents they receive on Christmas Day.

2. The quality and quantity of toys and gifts donated by the very generous people of Ely (and surrounding villages) and businesses this year was truly staggering - many were brand new.

3. Some local businesses and organisations have supported us right from the start and others have come onboard more recently. In no particular order we would especially like to thank: Waitrose Ely; Premier Travel; City Cycle Centre; Fresh, Ely Tyre Services; Ely Tool Hire; Tesco Ely, Faerch Ltd and local schools including King’s Ely and Sutton C of E Primary.

4. We would also like to thank the volunteers who devoted so much of their valuable time to help us organise and operate Ely’s Christmas Toy Bank 2025, as well as St Mary’s Church for hosting us once again.

After some well earned rest, the Toy Bank Team will meet in the New Year to plan how we can improve our processes to ensure we help those families who are genuinely struggling.

Ely Toy Bank saw an unprecedented demand today. We trust this has made a real difference to families in need.

We will open tomorrow, Sat 13th Dec (10am-1pm). We still have some gifts available, mainly for children in the 4-7 age range.

Setting up is going well, thanks to a great team effort by the volunteers who are checking & sorting all the toys so everything is ready for when we open to the public on Friday afternoon (3.30-5.30pm) and again on Saturday morning (10am-1pm). Lots of children are going to have a lovely Christmas this year thanks to the generosity of the people & businesses of Ely. We reckon we have had more toys donated this year than previously and many of them are brand new too. Thank you! ❤️

Waitrose have come up trumps again! Debbie & the team there have collected a huge quantity of new/high quality toys for us. This was our final (extra!) collection from them this morning. Thank you to everyone who donated!

We are in full swing now sorting out all the gifts ahead of the Toy Bank Opening tomorrow afternoon to the public at 3.30pm.
