🚫 Protecting Our Communities 🚫

Cold callers and rogue traders are not welcome in Aberdeenshire.

Free “No Cold Calling” stickers for your door are available to help deter unwanted callers and keep residents safe.

Trading Standards are pleased to be working with local businesses to set up collection points for these stickers. Details of more collection points throughout Aberdeenshire will be released in due course.

You can now collect your stickers from the following local hubs:

📍 The Banking Hub & Post Office – Turriff
📍 Banking Hub – Banff
📍 Post Office – Macduff

These stickers send a clear message and can help prevent doorstep crime. Let’s work together to protect our communities and make Aberdeenshire a safer place for everyone.

If in doubt, keep them out.

🌊 Funding now open for coastal and rural communities! 🌿

We’re excited to announce the launch of two major funding opportunities designed to support and strengthen communities across Aberdeenshire - the Coastal Communities Challenge Fund (CCCF) and the Rural Communities Challenge Fund (RCCF).

Whether you’re a community group, charity, social enterprise or local organisation with a big idea, this could be your chance to make it happen.

🌊 Coastal Communities Challenge Fund (CCCF)

Grants of up to £49,999 are available to support projects along Aberdeenshire’s coastline that deliver real local impact. We’re looking for projects which will:

✔️ Improve active travel routes along and to the coast
✔️ Boost the coastal economy, jobs and sustainable tourism
✔️ Create or enhance community, leisure and recreational spaces
✔️ Protect and improve our coastal environment

🌿 Rural Communities Challenge Fund (RCCF)

Supporting projects right across rural Aberdeenshire with:

🔹 £10,000–£49,999 for capital projects
🔹 £5,000–£49,999 for revenue projects

Projects should help deliver:

✔️ Better connections within and between rural communities
✔️ A fairer Aberdeenshire where no one is left behind
✔️ A greener future through sustainability and net zero efforts

This is your opportunity to bring ideas to life, strengthen your community, and create lasting change. Find out more at https://www.aberdeenshire.gov.uk/news/

Drivers across Aberdeenshire are being advised to take extra care as a new programme of road works gets underway.

Aberdeenshire Council has begun its 2026 surface dressing programme across the north-east, helping to maintain and extend the life of the region’s road network.

While this essential work improves road safety and durability in the long term by sealing surfaces and boosting skid resistance, there may be short-term changes for drivers to be aware of.

Following treatment, loose chippings will be present on the road surface for a period of time. Although roads are swept several times, it can take a few days for the stones to fully bed in. During this time:

⚠️Drive at or below the signed speed limits
⚠️Leave extra space between you and the vehicle ahead
⚠️Take extra care when braking, steering or cornering

Driving too fast can displace chippings, increasing the risk of skidding or potential damage to vehicles.

Slow, steady traffic actually helps the process by pressing the chippings into the surface and ensuring a longer-lasting repair.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation while these important works are carried out to keep Aberdeenshire’s roads in good condition.
