Udny Community Shelf We are all about reducing waste. Open daily from 9 am to mid afternoons.

The Udny Community Shelf is a volunteer-led initiative that helps reduce food waste, share resources, and strengthen our local community in Udny Green, Pitmedden, and Tarves.

Open tomorrow at 9 am

A busy day today with chilled food donated, fridges have a collection of milk, cream, lunch treats plus bread and a few vegetables and home grown rhubarb. Thank you for supporting the Udny community Shelf - all doing a small bit to help reduce waste ♻️

Newmachar fridges have unfortunately failed and there is not enough space in the shelf for the food 😮 shelf is staying open till 6:30pm - please head down so we can save the food going into landfill ☺️

Left over bread - I’ve just made dried bread crumbs from my left over bread. Instructions: Cube bread, blitz to crumbs. ...

Left over bread - I’ve just made dried bread crumbs from my left over bread.

Instructions:
Cube bread, blitz to crumbs.
Add 1/4 tsp turmeric and 1/2 tsp paprika
transfer to baking tray and bake in a cool oven (80oC) for 2 hrs.
Allow to cool and blitza again.
store in jar and keeps for up to 6 months.
