Yesterday Poppy had her 1st session of acupuncture. Today she is struggling so much with pain especiallyin her legs, so we are hoping this an after effect

🌿 The possible benefits of acupuncture for chronic pain & anxiety 🌿

Living with chronic pain can affect so much more than your body. It can impact your sleep, mood, energy, confidence and everyday life. And when anxiety is added into the mix, it can feel like your mind and body never get a chance to switch off.

Acupuncture may help some people manage chronic pain by encouraging the body’s natural pain-relieving responses and helping muscles relax. Some people also find it helps with tension, sleep and that constant feeling of being “on edge”.

For anxiety, acupuncture can be a calming experience in itself. Taking time to slow down, breathe and relax may help reduce stress and promote a greater sense of calm.

It isn't a magic cure, and it won't work for everyone — but for some people, it can be a useful complementary treatment alongside other forms of pain and anxiety management. 💚

Sometimes managing chronic conditions isn't about finding one thing that fixes everything. It's about finding the little things that help make life a bit more manageable. 🌸

🏡 HOME!!!* 🇬🇧❤️
And what a trip it has been! 🚗🌍
After around 3,000 miles of driving, countless hours on the road, and travelling through France 🇫🇷, Belgium🇧🇪, Germany🇩🇪, Austria🇦🇹, Switzerland🇨🇭, Italy🇮🇹, Monaco🇲🇨 and Luxembourg🇱🇺, we have finally made it back home! We really have packed an awful lot into one trip!
There were tolls that cost a small fortune 😂, traffic jams, very long drives, border controls, fuel stops, missed magnets 🧲 and a few moments where I wondered what on earth I had signed myself up for! But we made it through every single one.
And most importantly, me and Poppy have made some absolutely amazing memories together. ❤️
I’m so proud of myself for driving around 3,000 miles through Europe, especially when some of those roads were definitely testing my patience! 😂
And now, after all those miles...
HOME, happy, exhausted and already thinking about where we could go next! 😁🚗🌍
What an adventure!

Last night Pops experienced her 1st and severe stoma prolapse which was very scary for both Pops and Mum... we were lucky that the special solution of concentrated glucose and alot of pushing and poking the surgeons were able to push the prolapse back in without the need of surgery so we could come home 🙏 But here is some information that might help for others.
🌈 What is a Pr*****ed Stoma?
A pr*****ed stoma is when the bowel pushes out further than usual, making the stoma look longer. It can look worrying, but if the stoma stays pink or red and is still working, it is often not an emergency.
💙 What can you do?
If your child's stoma prolapses:
✅ Stay calm and reassure your child. ✅ Encourage them to lie down and relax. ✅ A cool compress may help reduce swelling. ✅ Granulated white sugar can sometimes be used to help reduce the swelling. The sugar draws fluid out of the swollen bowel (through osmosis), which may allow the prolapse to gently shrink and make it easier for a healthcare professional—or a parent who has been specifically taught—to reduce it. ✅ Never force the prolapse back in.
🚨 Seek urgent medical advice if:
🔴 The stoma changes colour (dark red, purple, blue or black). 🔴 It becomes very painful. 🔴 It stops working. 🔴 It cannot be reduced or continues to get bigger. 🔴 Your child seems unwell.
💜 Always follow the advice of your child's stoma nurse or surgical team. While sugar can be an effective way to reduce swelling, it should only be used if you have been shown how and advised that it's appropriate for your child.
✨ Remember: Every child is different, and your stoma care team is always there to help. You're not alone.

Poppy has been given some new technology from her stoma nurse. Since her refashioning operation last year we have struggled with her stoma, more than most people know, so this system will hopefully help her, we are also hoping it will give a sense of independence and peace of mind.
Heylo is a wearable digital leakage notification system by Coloplast, designed to give ostomates peace of mind. It continuously tracks potential leaks underneath your baseplate and sends a discreet warning to your smartphone app before output reaches your clothes.
For most patients, leakage of a stoma is currently the biggest challenge, with 92% of people worrying about leakage, impacting both their physical and mental wellbeing.
The Heylo can be very beneficial for children, non-verbal adults, and situations involving caregivers, With a stoma many experience the urge to continuously check for leakage. Heylo is constantly checking for leakage so you don’t have to. Heylo is the world's first leakage notification system for Stoma Care!

How proud am I! I know she struggles with school, and her health but that doesnt stop her from trying her very best and with nothing but good remarks from her teachers at parents evening today. They recognise her trying her hardest and that is all that matters to me, and her attitude to learning in some subjects is outstanding. Mamma is proud of you Pops ❤️🎉❤️
