Congratulations to S/Lt Pritchard, Capt Powell, Mr Rogers, Lt Turner and LC Irvine on receiving their Lord-Lieutenant’s Awards this evening at Chester Cathedral.

These awards recognise outstanding commitment, dedication and service, and are a fitting tribute to the countless hours each recipient has devoted to supporting young people and our organisation.

Unfortunately, Lt Turner was unable to attend the ceremony, but we are delighted that her contribution has been recognised alongside fellow award recipients.

A proud evening for all involved – congratulations once again on this well-deserved achievement.

Well done everyone!

A very proud Commanding Officer 🤩

Last night, Ellesmere Port Sea Cadets were proud to attend the Mayor Making Ceremony for Ellesmere Port. It was a fantastic evening celebrating civic service and community leadership.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the outgoing Mayor, Cllr Katie Kendrick OBE - Netherpool Ward, for her continued support over the past 12 months. Your encouragement has meant a great deal to our unit and cadets.
We also look forward to building a strong relationship with the newly appointed Mayor, Cllr John Stockton, and continuing our work alongside the Mayor of Ellesmere Port in the year ahead.
A special congratulations to LC Juliette, who was formally presented with her Mayor’s Cadet badge during the evening, alongside her counterpart from 1074 Ellesmere Port Squadron, RAF Air Cadets. A proud moment and well deserved!

For Volunteers’ Week 2026, we’d like to say thank you to all our incredible volunteers.

We are incredibly grateful for the time, commitment and passion you give to Sea Cadets every week.

Whether you’re instructing, supporting your unit behind the scenes, or helping cadets take part in new opportunities, you are making a real and lasting difference to young people’s lives.

As one parent shared recently, “it’s helped bring out the best in my children - we’re very grateful.”

On behalf of our cadets, thank you for your dedication, time and inspiration 💙

Happy 18th birthday James. Here he is as a Junior at Birkenhead Sea Cadets to a Petty Officer Cadet at Ellesmere Port Sea Cadets. James has had a brilliant Sea Cadet experience with a wide variety of opportunities such as completing Gold DofE, Silver Wings, Master Cosxwain, Drill Instructor, Piping Instructor, Powerboat Instructor to name a few. He has represented the unit well at National Trafalgar, as the Little Sutton RBL standard bearer, and is part of the worship team at St Paul’s Church. If this is what can be achieved as a cadet, imagine what the journey as a Cadet Forces Adult Volunteer will be like. Welcome to the team James

This weekend we sent three of our cadet pipers to compete at the National Drill and Piping Competition at HMS Raleigh!

We’re incredibly pleased to announce they achieved an outstanding 4th place in the country! An amazing accomplishment against top-level competition 👏

In the individual piping competition, a special well done goes to:

This weekend we’ve been proud to host Sea Cadets North West Area Advanced Peer Educator Course. This gives cadets the opportunity to develop the skills and confidence to instruct their peers at the highest level and allows them to progress to Petty Officer Cadet.

Throughout the course, participants have not only enhanced their leadership and instructional abilities, but also gained the tools to support the delivery of training modules back at their units.

A huge thank you to the volunteers who make these courses possible!

This week at Ellesmere Port Sea Cadets has been full of energy and teamwork!

Our Marine Cadets led a great session, giving our Sea Cadets an insight into how to build a shelter a fantastic hands on skill that really put everyone’s teamwork to the test.

We also had a fun rec night packed with activities, including bucket ball and a go with our brand new parachute, which was a big hit all round!

A massive thank you to our local MP Justin Madders, for this generous donation. Support like this helps us continue making a positive impact in our cadets! 🙌⚓️

I’m taking part again in the Betting and Gaming Council’s (BGC) Grand National Charity Bet. 🏇

With the race tomorrow, I’ve backed Panic Attack at 16/1 with a £25 each-way complimentary bet (£50 total).

If it comes in, up to £530 — plus a £250 donation from the BGC — will go to Ellesmere Port Sea Cadets. If not, they’ll still receive £250, so a great cause benefits either way.

Here’s hoping for a big run at Aintree tomorrow 🍀
