Stanlaw Abbey Christmas Toy Appeal

Since 2014 we have supported local children in Ellesmere Port at Christmas time. Children of all ages, up to 18 years-old are included in this Appeal.

Each year Stanlaw Abbey Development Trust organise a Christmas Toy Appeal to support vulnerable and low-income children within Ellesmere Port. Working with Family intervention workers, social workers, schools, woman’s refuges, food banks and drop-in centres, our appeal is provided with a list of families who need help to ensure that their children receive a gift at Christmas.

🎉✨ Happy New Year — and what a way to end the year. THANK YOU! ✨🎉

As we step into a brand new year, we want to take a moment to look back and say one final, heartfelt thank you to everyone who made the Stanlaw Abbey Christmas Toy Appeal so special.
Here in Ellesmere Port & Neston, through the Stanlaw Abbey Christmas Toy Appeal working alongside KidsBank Chester, we supported 403 local families, reaching over 1,500 people — including 961 children and 575 adults — and gifting an incredible 10,503 items directly to children and families in our community.

These gifts were made possible thanks to over 5,400 toy donations received from the very kind people, organisations and businesses of Ellesmere Port & Neston and the surrounding communities THANK YOU! — which, alongside additional items sourced through the wider KidsBank campaign, allowed us to create full, meaningful gift bundles for every child.

This reel captures just a small snapshot of what made the appeal so special — the people, the smiles, the generosity, and the many moments of kindness that happened behind the scenes.
To everyone who donated a toy, hosted a donation box, volunteered time, spread the word, or supported the appeal in any way — thank you. You helped bring joy, comfort and magic to so many local families this Christmas. 💛

We’re incredibly proud of what’s been achieved together and grateful to start the New Year knowing our community continues to show up for one another.

🎄Behind the Scenes at the Christmas Toy Appeal🎄
From donations to delivery…

WOW! — what a few weeks it’s been.
We’ve now completed the huge task of counting, sorting and registering the thousands upon thousands of generous gifts donated to this year’s Christmas Toy Appeal😊. While the donation deadline has passed, the work is very much still ongoing 💪.

Right now, the elves at KidsBank are working flat-out in Santa’s Grotto (the fulfilment centre), carefully preparing all the gifts to ensure they reach children and families in need in time for Christmas.

Some of you left your names, others chose to donate anonymously — but every single one of you is helping change lives this Christmas. There are simply too many people to thank.
We couldn’t possibly thank everyone, BUT we’re going to try....

🎄✨ A very special day at Toy Appeal HQ – and just 3 days to go! ✨🎄

With the countdown now well underway, we were delighted to welcome Becki Jones to our Toy Appeal HQ. Becki has supported the appeal for many years, and as a local cause close to her heart, it was wonderful to welcome her in to donate toys and see the appeal in action.

A huge thank you to Becki for her continued generosity and long-standing support for the children and families we help each Christmas.

We are equally grateful to the wider Ellesmere Port community — the individuals, schools, businesses and organisations who support the appeal year after year. This campaign is only possible because of the collective kindness of so many people who give their time, resources and donations.

⏰ ONLY 3 DAYS TO GO — and every donation still makes a difference.

We are thrilled to share the incredible success of this year’s Stanlaw Abbey Christmas Toy Appeal! 🌟 Thanks to the generosity of our wonderful community and the power of collaboration, we’ve made Christmas truly magical for so many families! 💖
💌 The Stanlaw Abbey Toy Appeal
👉 Right here in Ellesmere Port and Neston, through the Stanlaw Abbey Toy Appeal, we supported 860 children and 538 adults, distributing an incredible 8,790 items – delivering joy directly to local families.
🎁 Each child received a gift bundle containing up to 10 gifts, thoughtfully curated with:
🧸 A main present
🎨 A smaller gift
📚 Crafts, puzzles, stocking fillers, and a book!
✨ For the first time, we were able to extend our support to families by providing each parent with a thoughtful gift, recognising the challenges they face and their dedication to their children.
🤝 Across the Entire Campaign:
👉 Through our collaboration with amazing charity partners and the incredible fulfilment by KidsBank, the campaign supported 1,812 children and 1,092 adults, distributing an astounding 18,052 items across Cheshire West & Chester and Flintshire!
👉 By centralising referrals, we could ensure your donations reached those in need. This process ensured donations were not duplicated and that every gift made a meaningful difference to a family in need.
💖 Local Giving, Local Impact:
Your donations, time, and generosity directly impacted families in the local area, proving the power of community spirit.
👉 Over 4,000 toy donations and very generous cash contributions made this possible. Every item, every gift, and every moment of your support mattered!
