How Our Repair Café Works

Our Repair Café is run by volunteers who generously give their time and skills to help visitors repair items wherever possible. We aim to encourage repair, reduce waste, and help people learn more about fixing everyday items.

Please note that all items brought to the Repair Café remain the responsibility of their owner at all times. We are unable to provide storage for items before, during, or after an event, and any items left behind are left entirely at the owner’s risk.

The Repair Café, its volunteers, and organisers cannot accept responsibility for storing, safeguarding, transporting, or disposing of items brought to the event. We ask that visitors take all items home with them, whether repaired, partially repaired, or unrepaired.

By bringing an item to the Repair Café, visitors acknowledge and accept these conditions.

Thank you for your understanding and for helping us keep the Repair Café running smoothly for everyone.

🛠️ Repair Café Results Are In! 🎉

Yesterday we welcomed 30 poorly, poorly items through the doors… and our volunteer fixers got busy! Here’s how the repair adventure went:

✅ 25 items brought back to life – rescued, revived, and ready for action again! One item being this lovely toy car (see video).
🔧 4 items diagnosed – needing a bit of extra love, parts, or specialist attention.
💔 1 item declared beyond repair – a moment of silence for our fallen gadget.

That’s 25 things saved from the bin! 🙌

Huge thanks to our brilliant volunteers and everyone who brought items along. Every repair keeps useful stuff in use a little longer and helps reduce waste – plus we love a good challenge!

🔧 Elland Repair Café – This Saturday!

Got something broken at home? Don’t throw it away—bring it along to Elland Repair Café and see if we can help fix it!

📅 Saturday 7th March
⏰ From 10:30am (last item booked in at 2:00pm) till 2:30pm
📍 Project C**t, Elland

How it works:

1️⃣ Book in when you arrive - Head to the booking table in the café area at Project C**t.

2️⃣ Quick form & chat - You’ll be asked to read our house rules and disclaimer, then sign the form and briefly explain what you’ve brought and what’s wrong with it.

3️⃣ Meet a repairer - If a repairer is available, we’ll match you with the best person for the job. If we’re busy, feel free to relax with a coffee or cake from Rusty’s Café while you wait.

4️⃣ Watch and learn - Stay with your item while it’s being repaired—you might even pick up a few new skills!

5️⃣ Finish up - When the repair is done, bring your form back to the desk in the café area. If you can, please make a donation to help us keep running this community service.

🔧☕ Elland Repair Café is BACK for 2026! ☕🔧

Dust off those dodgy toasters, brown frames, stubborn zips and “I’ll-fix-it-one-day” items — that day is Saturday 7th February! 🎉

Join us at Project C**t from 10:30am until 2:00pm (or when the last brave item is booked in) for another Repair Café full of fixing, fettling and friendly faces.

Our brilliant volunteer fixers will do their best to breathe new life into your broken bits — all while you enjoy a cuppa, a chat with the fixer reviewing@ your item, and the warm glow of saving something from landfill ♻️💚

Out with the old, in with the… well… fixable! 🛠️😉

We’re excited to see what 2026 brings — from wobbly lamps and tired toasters to well-loved treasures in need of a little TLC. Thank you for being part of our repair-happy community 💚

We’ll be kicking off the year with our first Repair Café on Saturday the 7th of February 2026, and we cannot wait to welcome you back.
