We were delighted to welcome Jeremy Auchincloss, Rev Dion Oelofse and Ian Morrison from Elgin Parish Church for a service of Worship this afternoon.

Faith and spiritual connection play an important role in person centre care. For many people living in care homes , opportunities to worship and maintain their spiritual needs can bring reassurance, hope and continued connection to their community.

Thank you Jeremy, Dion and Ian for sharing your time and fellowship with us. Your visit brought comfort, joy and a wonderful sense of togetherness. We are very grateful for your continued support and look forward to welcoming you back again soon .

The four beautiful stone structures in our Heritage garden are more than decorative features, they have an extraordinary story to tell.

At 209 High Street Elgin once stood the home of General Anderson. While we know the house formed part of the Anderson story, we do not know how long he lived there or if he divided his time between Elgin and Baker Street London where he passed away.

In 1853 the property was purchased by the Commercial Bank, beginning a new chapter in its history.
Then in 1971 the building was demolished to make way for the Royal Bank of Scotland.
As the walls came down these remarkable carvings vanished from sight.

Then in 2008 the four capitals were found in a dump and rescued before they were due to be crushed and lost forever. At the time of their discovery our Heritage garden was taking shape and the person who found the stones suggested these beautiful stones might find a fitting home there.
What no one realised at the time was the extraordinary connection they shared with our homes founder Andrew Anderson. What was the chances?

After surviving demolition, decades of obscurity and a narrow escape of destruction, these four stones have completed an incredible journey back to where they truly belong. Today they stand not only as a beautiful examples of craftsmanship but as powerful reminders that heritage has a way of finding its way home .

It was an absolute delight to host an afternoon of tea, cake and a guided tour for the lovely ladies of the Elgin BALL Group.

We were pleased to offer a glimpse behind the scenes of our beautiful and imposing building, sharing a little of who we are and what we do. It was wonderful to welcome such an engaging group and to spend time together learning about the history of Anderson’s.

Thank you to the Elgin BALL Group for spending the afternoon with us, it was a pleasure to have you and we hope to welcome you back again soon.

Our latest outing took us towards Buckie , where we turned off to Drybridge to discover the incredible Craigmin Bridge, a real hidden gem tucked away in the Moray countryside.

Built in 1773 this remarkable two tiered stone arch bridge is an impressive piece of engineering and a fascinating part of the area’s history. Our residents enjoyed hearing about the bridges history while having a break for a cup of tea. They also loved the spectacular views across the coast from the surrounding countryside.

It was a wonderful afternoon out full of fresh air, great company and a glimpse into the past. It was a lovely spending time together in such a beautiful setting .
