We provide support, education, medical care, vocational training and give youngsters a place where t We are mostly supported by donations and child sponsorship.

The Cogwheel Trust was started by Mr Kevin Hammond in India in 1995 after he was affected by a visit to the country a year earlier. The work has spread and is now centred in Uganda where we have a children’s home in Namugongo and a school in Mpoma. We also care for children within their own community, wehre possible.

After nearly two years of schools in Uganda being closed, ours is finally open again and it was great to witness the joy on the children's faces at being back. Even washing dishes can be fun, especially when you have just enjoyed a hearty meal.

Cogwheel Staff in Uganda have been busy purchasing gifts for the children this Christmas and we want to thank everyone who has given to make Christmas special for them again this year.

MESSAGE FROM KEVIN
South India is presently suffering from a severe cyclone causing flooding with many vulnerable people losing what shelter they had and huts unable to hold out the water. Many are going hungry with crops destroyed and wet firewood making it impossible to cook on open fires. We have already supported a number of families providing plastic sheeting for their roof, a gas stove, bedding and essential provisions but the need is so great that we are wondering if you would like to make a donation so we are in the position to help many more families, some have not had dry clothing or eaten for days! A tarpaulin costs only £9.00, a mat for sleeping costs only £3.00 and emergency provisions only £20.00 per family. You can donate on line through our link to Stewardship. Thank you so much.

I feel soooooo sorry for these kids. I hated exams! These are P7 children who are studying old exam papers in preparation for the end of year exams for moving into senior school. Normally the exams are sat in November but due to Covid they are not being sat until March we think

By order of the government some school years have been sent home. These photos are showing the Cogwheel staff visiting the children in their homes, making sure they are ok and delivering homework.
