Last year's Moray Climate Conference brought together people from across Moray to share ideas, build connections and explore practical climate action.

This year, we're continuing the conversation with The Elements of Change taking a closer look at the connections between air, water, earth and fire and how they're shaping Moray's response to climate change. We'll also be highlighting the people and projects driving positive change locally.

Join us on Thursday 24 September for a day of local stories, local solutions and ways to work together.

Free to attend. Light lunch provided

A few weeks ago, Moray CAN took the climate conversation to the Commonwealth Games.

On 25 August, we’re bringing it home to Moray. 🌍

We’re supporting a local screening of The People’s Emergency Briefing at The Inkwell in Elgin, and we’d really like you to be there.

Because climate change is already changing the world around us. But amongst the headlines, arguments and endless information, it can be difficult to know what’s actually happening, what it means for us, and what we can do about it.

🎬 The People’s Emergency Briefing brings together leading scientists and experts to explain where we are now, clearly and honestly.
And then we talk! Not a lecture.
Not a room where you need to know the right answers.
Not just for people already involved in climate action.

It’s a conversation for all of us.

📅 Tuesday 25 August
⏰ 7–9pm
📍 The Inkwell, Elgin

Come and watch. Ask questions. Challenge things. Share what you think.

Because the climate conversation needs more people in it — including you. 💚 https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/the-peoples-emergency-briefing-community-screening-discussion-elgin-tickets-1994147530946?aff=oddtdtcreator

What a weekend at Belladrum! 🌿🐝🎶

We met hundreds of people, had countless conversations, made new connections and chatted with lots of festival-goers who might never normally stop at a climate stall. That’s exactly why we love being at events like this.

Some of our biggest hits were the simplest ideas. 🌳💚

Our pledge tree quickly filled with colourful leaves as people shared their favourite thing about nature or a climate action pledge. We covered our tables with a giant roll of paper and invited people to tell us where they’d travelled from. Before long it had become a giant collaborative artwork, with doodles, messages and little moments of magic. One person drew a flower, and later in the day someone else spotted it and added a bee, joining the two with a dotted flight path. We absolutely loved that.

The Outfit Moray smoothie bike was another star of the show! It became so popular that people were arriving saying they’d been told they had to come and find the smoothie bike. Word certainly got around!

We were also lucky enough to meet some incredible people, including the woman behind the monkey bridges that help protect monkeys in Africa from being electrocuted on power lines. Conversations like these remind us just how many inspiring ideas are out there.

A huge thank you to everyone who visited us, wrote a leaf, added to our accidental artwork, powered the smoothie bike, shared ideas or simply stopped for a chat. Thanks too to our friends at Highlands & Islands Climate Hub, our volunteers and Outfit Moray for helping create such a welcoming, fun space.

The weather was mostly kind, our feet are definitely feeling it… and we were very happy to see our own beds (and enjoy a hot shower!) last night.

Until next year, Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival💚🌿🐝

Have you visited us at Belladrum yet?

We’ve already had the pleasure of chatting with so many wonderful people about what matters most in your communities, and we’ve loved seeing your thoughtful notes added to our beautiful tree.

If you haven’t stopped by yet, we’d love to see you!

🌿🎶 We are SO looking forward to Belladrum! Moray CAN and Highlands & Islands Climate Hub have teamed up and you’ll find us in the Walled Garden.

We’ve got some fun, hands-on activities for all ages, plenty of climate and nature chats… and we may or may not have been up to our elbows in papier-mâché getting some decorations ready! 🌳🐝😂

Come and say hello, get involved, and help us celebrate nature. See you there! 💚

So… we did a thing! 🤩

Today we found ourselves presenting at a Commonwealth Games meeting, talking about how football clubs in Moray are leading the way on climate action.

Who’d have thought local clubs from the north of Scotland would be inspiring conversations at this level? We’re incredibly proud to share Lossiemouth FC and Buckie Thistle FC’s work.

Here’s to showing that big change really can start locally. 💚⚽
