It's Volunteers' Week🤩
Our breastfeeding peer support volunteers give so much to our organisation and our local families.
Our infant feeding peer support volunteer coordinator Adele shared
"This Volunteers’ Week, I want to shine a light on something truly special - our Breastfeeding Peer Support Volunteers.
Every day, these incredible individuals give their time, kindness, and lived experience to support families across Grampian, offering a listening ear, a reassuring word and a reminder that no one has to navigate feeding their baby on their own.
They are the friendly face at some of our groups, you might see them in the postnatal wards or they might be the encouraging message in your phone offering calm reassurance and signposting during what can sometimes feel like overwhelming moments.
More babies are receiving breastmilk at 6-8 weeks than ever before. We have much more to do, of course, but that is a significant milestone and peer support has contributed to the achievement of that. We are building a Breastfeeding Friendly Scotland.
Thank you to each and every one of you. You are making a difference."
