Cycling UK Moray

Cycling UK Moray Cycling UK inspires and enables people to cycle and keep cycling. This page shares updates about our Connecting Communities project in Moray.

We encourage all types of cycling, on the road or off it. We support you if you already ride, or would like to ride, to work or school, for health, touring, sport and leisure - or just because it’s fun. We’ve been working for cycling for over a century. Nationally and locally, we use our knowledge to influence decision makers and help people discover how cycling can change lives. Cycling UK is the

UK's cycling charity and relies on 70,000 members, volunteers, grant funders and partners for support. Without them, we would not be able to do our vital work in communities inspiring hundreds of thousands of people across the UK to cycle.

📢Join our Scotland Election 2026 Active Travel Hustings, chaired by climate scientist Less Waste Laura, where party representatives will discuss how Scotland can create streets that work for everyone - especially women and under-represented riders.

🛞Delivered online alongside Walk Wheel Cycle Trust Scotland and on Wheels, the hustings will explore what the next Scottish Government must do to make walking, wheeling and cycling safer and more accessible - especially for women.

Last year, our behaviour change programmes helped more than 100,000 people cycle for happier, healthier and greener lives. 🚲💚

That isn’t just a number. It represents tens of thousands of real stories of confidence built, new habits formed, and more people choosing active, sustainable ways to travel in everyday life.

Our new article brings together the headline results from 2025, plus short stories from across all seven programmes, with links to explore each one in more detail.

Andy’s journey shows how the right support can make everyday cycling possible.

Through our Connecting Communities project, Andy gained the confidence to try an e-bike and rethink his approach to getting around. What started as a practical change has become something he genuinely enjoys, saving money, boosting wellbeing, and feeling more connected to his community.

With funding from HITRANS and support from Moray Council, the programme is helping more people across the region discover that cycling to work can be practical, safe, and enjoyable.

Stories like Andy’s are why this work matters: small changes with real impact.
