A KEEN skater who has been sharing his impressive skills with youngsters has now revealed ambitious plans to create an indoor skatepark.

Our dream is based on solid principles. Inclusivity, unity, mutual respect and the nurturing of talent however it presents.

We want people to escape boredom and experience the ultimate skateboarding dream at a two-story warehouse! The lower floor will be a professionally designed, destination skatepark, while the upper floor will offer a dedicated youth center, complete with quiet and loud sections.
Our youth center will feature a range of amenities, things like pool tables, air hockey, comfortable seating areas, books, TVs with gaming consoles, DJ decks and dedicated graffiti/doodle walls.
Additionally, we will have a mezzanine platform with seating serving refreshments for spectators to enjoy the skatepark action.
The highlight of our skatepark will be the foam pit, providing a safe landing for daring tricks allowing athletes to push their limits without fear of injury. We will also have a hardware store for repairs and equipment sales, as well as merchandise available on-site and online.
As Egremont's current skatepark will likely be removed upon our opening, the outside will be kitted out with free-to-use concrete ramps and a fully skateable garden with stunning wildflowers and a rockery-gap with a cascading pool.
Join us as we pave the road to our destination skatepark and be part of an unforgettable experience that attracts skateboarding enthusiasts from all over while providing our young people a warm, welcoming and safe space to simply be themselves.

Ladies and gentlemen, now that it's too cold and wet to safely skate outdoors, the time has come for us to hit the ground running.

The venue may be out of reach but the dream we shared for East Road Garage still lives on as each of us know and feel, deep in our hearts, that the young people of Egremont deserve better!

We're now looking to form the core advocacy group that will get our town and our youth the facilities they so sorely need.

Advocacy takes many forms and requires different levels of effort from different people with different skills. Hell, half the time advocacy is just showing up to council meetings, giving a thumbs up and saying "I support this message!"

If you have a few hours (or more) per week to spare and would like to get involved then please message the page :) we are primarily seeking people who are either looking to gain or currently have experience in:

Media management, content creation and project coordination.

We also need more dreamers, creatives, realists and scientists..

Together we can, and will, revitalise our beautiful town and revolutionise the life experiences of our young people for the better.

Gonna be looking for local advocates soon guys! I'll get a list compiled of roles that need filling and details on how to get involved.

Like every other community project we need to show that this is something the community wants, needs and is willing to work towards!
