❓ Do you know what a CuddleCot is, and why it's so important?

The CuddleCot is a unique cooling system that gently cools a pre-term or full-term baby after loss, helping to slow natural changes and giving families the gift of more time with their baby. It is trusted in thousands of hospitals around the world.

The importance of time after loss is recognised internationally by bereavement specialists and researchers. This precious time allows families to hold their baby, create lasting memories, recover from the effects of medication, welcome loved ones to meet their baby, and make funeral arrangements without feeling rushed.

Using innovative water-based cooling technology, the CuddleCot cools a specially designed pad to an ideal temperature. It gently slows natural changes without becoming too cold for parents to hold their baby.

Unlike some alternative cooling methods, the CuddleCot:
🩡 Is water-based and free from harmful chemicals
🩡 Will not ice up or freeze the baby's skin
🩡 Can be used in any existing hospital bassinet or trolley
🩡 Allows babies to remain gently cooled while being held in their parents' arms

πŸ’‘ We are more than just a cooling device. We also provide free online evidence based learning for healthcare professionals that care for bereaved families, and a variety of resources like the Bereavement Care Toolkit.

🩡 Why is it called a CuddleCot?

Because parents shouldn’t have to choose between holding their baby and maintaining gentle cooling.

The CuddleCot 2-in-1 system is designed for pre- and full-term babies and provides temperature-controlled cooling that can be used while baby is being held in a parent’s arms.

The cooling is gentle enough to help slow natural changes after death, while allowing parents to hold, cuddle and spend precious time with their baby without having to repeatedly place them back into a cot.

That means healthcare professionals don’t have to interrupt those moments by asking parents to return their baby to ice packs or gel pads to maintain cooling.

And when parents do want to place their baby down, they have a choice. The CuddleCot cooling pads can be used in any suitable bassinet, cot or trolley, or wrapped with baby while swaddled. The system isn’t tied to one particular cot or basket.

🩡 Because there should be choice.

Choice in where baby rests.
Choice in how parents spend their time together.
And, most importantly, the freedom to focus on the cuddles and every precious detail.

That’s why it’s called a CuddleCot.
