New Year's Resolution? Build community!

On the 4th of December members of the community organised an information evening on the potential reestablishment of the West Pilton West Granton Community Council. We had support from the local government team from the council, our neighbouring Granton and District Community Council and at least one ward councillor.

Issues that were brought up on the day included:
-Pennywell Roundabout being an unacceptably dangerous spot to cross the road.
-Wanting to support the North Edinburgh Festival
-Concerns about youth crime.
-A disconnect between the new builds north of the West Granton Road and the older community in West Pilton.
-Some extreme litter issues such as most notably on the West Shore Road.

This area is the 2nd most deprived in Edinburgh and it is so crucial that we come together to form what groups we can to tackle issues and build community. It is so important that we establish the community council to help make the area better for all of us.

If you are interested in working with or being part of the community council please message this page and we will keep you updated on any and all future events and hopefully an upcoming election of community councillors.
