Are you interested in joining our Relief Team?

Hear from our relief worker Lucy who has been part of Queensferry Care since 2021.

‘Working at The Haven has been great experience to compliment my nursing degree. I have enjoyed meeting lots of new people and enjoyed creating a fun day for the service users. The flexibility around relief work has been great for my other commitments’

Endings and new beginnings. Lucy will be leaving at the end of the month after successfully completing her nursing degree and securing a position with the NHS 💙

Meet Stephanie and her mum, Elizabeth.

Stephanie moved in with her mum after her dad passed away and Elizabeth was no longer able to live alone.

Life changed significantly.

“I’ve gone from visiting a few times a week, to becoming a full-time carer.”

Supper Club gives them somewhere to go together. Elizabeth gets support when she needs it, while Stephanie gets the chance to enjoy her own meal, have a conversation and spend time with other people.

They’ve barely missed a Supper Club in almost two years.

For Stephanie, those evenings matter.

“It makes a nice change to get out of the house… instead of just going for a walk and back to the house.”

Sometimes support isn’t about doing something extraordinary, sometimes it’s doing something so you feel less alone.

When dementia touches a family, it changes life for everyone. 💙

Our Supper Clubs create a warm, welcoming place where people living with dementia and the family members who care for them can enjoy an evening together.

Between April 2025 and March 2026, we held 46 Supper Club sessions, supporting 24 people.

Helping to make those evenings possible were 4 wonderful volunteers, who gave 336 hours of their time.

But the numbers don’t tell you what it means to have somewhere you can simply sit together, enjoy a meal, talk to other people and feel supported.

A huge thank you! 💙

A huge thanks again to everyone who popped along to our Charity Café & Market at The Haven on Saturday. It was lovely to welcome 48 people through the doors, including our younger visitors, who of course come along for free!

We were also delighted to be joined by six fantastic stallholders:

Our monthly Café & Market is about more than fundraising. It’s a chance to bring people together, offer a warm welcome at The Haven and give local makers and small businesses a space to showcase what they do.

And thanks to everyone who came along, enjoyed a cuppa and cake, browsed the stalls or bought something, Saturday also raised a fantastic £270 profit for Queensferry Care. 🎉

Every penny helps us continue supporting older people and their carers across South Queensferry, Ratho, Ratho Station, Dalmeny, Kirkliston and Newbridge.

Thank you to our stallholders, our volunteers and everyone who supported us. We couldn’t do it without you. 💙
