Volunteer Week day 4️⃣!
Today we are shining a light on the amazing hands-on support our volunteers provide every single day. From changing lightbulbs and moving furniture to helping with DIY repairs, installing equipment, and tackling those hard-to-reach jobs, no task is too small when it makes a big difference.
Whether it is a planned visit or helping with “two-person” jobs, our volunteers are there to keep homes safe, comfortable, and running smoothly. Thank you for your time, effort, and dedication, it truly does not go unnoticed!

Volunteer Week day 3! We are delighted to share some brilliant news from our extended volunteer family. Lesley, wife of one of our volunteers, recently completed the Edinburgh Marathon – an incredible achievement, especially as it was her very first marathon.

Not only did Lesley take on this huge personal challenge, but she also chose to use the opportunity to support others. Thanks to her effort and generosity, she has raised and donated an amazing £350 to our charities’ hardship fund.

We are truly touched that Lesley thought of us in this way, and we are so grateful for her kindness and dedication. Completing a marathon is no small feat, and to do so while supporting our cause makes it even more special.

A huge well done to Lesley – and thank you for making such a positive difference.

We’re delighted to be featured in the Currie & Balerno News and even more excited to be announced as Oriam Walking Football’s charity partner for 2026!
This partnership is a fantastic opportunity to raise awareness of the work we do supporting older and disabled people to live safely and independently at home. With nearly 300 jobs completed in the Currie, Balerno and Baberton areas last year alone, we’re proud to be making a real difference in local communities.
A big thank you to Oriam Walking Football for their support, we’re looking forward to working together and helping even more people across Edinburgh 💙Oriam Walking Football

💙 Donate through a Gift of Shares 💙

Did you know that donating shares is a tax‑efficient way to support Care & Repair Edinburgh and help older people across our city live safely and independently?

If you have a small number of shares that are difficult or uneconomical to sell, ShareGift can help. They combine and sell these shares and, if you choose, donate the proceeds directly to us. Larger shareholdings (over £500) can also be donated and are usually sold immediately.

✨ There is no cost to you or to the charity.
You can also transfer shares directly to Care & Repair Edinburgh via your stockbroker or investment platform. In most cases, this allows you to claim income tax relief and exemption from capital gains tax.
Every gift helps us provide practical support to older people across Edinburgh. If you’d like to find out more, please get in touch or visit our website. 💙
