Neo Productions Over the years this has also included working in South Africa to create links between and draw on the talent of both countries.

Neo Productions is an Edinburgh-based multi-cultural theatre company, established in 2004, to give people from the black and minority ethnic population of Scotland opportunities to develop their on-stage and back-stage skills and to promote work by black and minority ethnic writers. We have developed a track-record for:
• Creating new shows and involving as many people as possible from a diverse b

ackground.
• Discovering new black and ethnic minority talent.
• Creating unique shows which reflect the experiences and history of black and ethnic minority people living in Scotland. The company’s initial production was ‘Once Were Free’ performed in the 2004 Fringe Festival. The second was a workshopped performance of ‘Viva Mandela’ in North Edinburgh Arts, 2007. Various production ideas have been discussed and created since. We are now working on ‘Shona: The Musical’ as our next project.

Here's the latest results from work on our 10 Times Beautiful production. It's an album of 10 tracks launched on International Women's Day (8 March 2026) available on major online music platforms - thanks to support from the National Lottery through Creative Scotland.

The 10 Times Beautiful Concept Album is OUT NOW! 🎉🔥

It's been a long time in the making, but it's finally finished and we're super excited to share this incredible album with you on International Women's Day 🌺

Take a journey through African women's history, starting from the birth of humanity with Eve, through the ancient and mighty Kush*te kingdom of Queen Amanirenas to Apartheid South Africa with Winnie Mandela. Dance in the rain with Queen Modjadji and experience the everyday lives of millions of South African women through the laments of Anna Mchunu. This is African history like you've never heard it before!

📣The 10 Times Beautiful official single 'Black Power' is available NOW on all major streaming platforms! 📣🎵

The song is sung from the perspective of anti-Apartheid activist Winnie Mandela, a major character featured in the 10 Times Beautiful musical. Structured as a confrontation, Winnie’s voice is expressed through rap, a traditional form of protest, while Major Swanepoel, a senior Apartheid officer, responds in operatic, bombastic lines representing state authority.

'Black Power' is just a little taster of our upcoming full 10 Times Beautiful album, set to release on 8th March (International Women's Day) 2026 🎉 Stay tuned for exciting news and updates!
