Living with haemophilia has changed dramatically over the years, and Jay has experienced that journey firsthand.

Diagnosed just days after birth, Jay shares how learning to manage his own treatment gave him the confidence to take control of his health, and how advances in treatment have transformed daily life.

In this video, he also speaks about the importance of self-advocacy, staying informed about your condition, and finding a community that understands your experiences.

💙 Your voice matters. Watch Jay's story and hear why knowledge, confidence, and connection can make all the difference.

What an incredible day at the Dundee Kiltwalk on Sunday 16th August!

A massive thank you to Louise and to the Banu family for walking on behalf of Haemophilia Scotland. Your spirit, determination and support were amazing.

You’ve helped shine a light on bleeding disorders and raised vital awareness for our community. We couldn’t be more grateful.

Thank you! ❤

At Haemophilia Scotland, our mission is simple: to ensure that everyone living with a bleeding disorder can access the support, care, and opportunities they need to live life to the fullest.

We believe that a diagnosis should never limit someone’s ambitions, education, career, relationships, or everyday experiences ⭐️

Through advocacy, support, and community, we work towards a future where people with bleeding disorders feel empowered to manage their condition - rather than feeling like their condition manages them.

📚 Anxious about heading back to school after the summer holidays? We’re here to support you.

Returning to school can bring new questions and challenges for children living with bleeding disorders, as well as their families. From helping schools better understand your child’s condition to supporting a smooth transition back into the classroom, the Haemophilia Scotland team is here to help.

If you’d like advice, resources, or guidance on how we can support your child’s reintegration, please get in touch with our team 🫶

We are delighted to welcome Ruth to the charity as our new Advocacy Support Worker, providing infected and affected individuals and their families with dedicated, compassionate and confidential support.

This new role reflects our commitment to ensuring that members don’t have to navigate the complexities of the Infected Blood Compensation Scheme alone.

Ruth will be on hand to answer questions, explain the compensation process in clear and straightforward terms, and provide practical support when engaging with the Infected Blood Compensation Authority and other organisations. She will also help with other general advocacy issues affecting our members as needed.

We are excited to introduce this valuable new service and believe Ruth will make a real and lasting difference to the people we support.
