Yesterday’s families together trip took us through to Glasgow for a visit to the Riverside Transport Museum.

It was a great day learning about all things transport and the young team getting to see how we travelled back in the 1800’s as they so politely put it 🤪

Tonight we’re getting spooky 👻 and travelling not so further afield in our favourite mode of transport the GY Mini bus to the pumpkins after dark event at The Royal Highland Show-ground🎃

Have you seen the billboards from our “To Be Seen” project with National Galleries of Scotland popping up in Edinburgh?

Young people got to see this big long un’ getting unveiled near Meadowbank last night! You’ll also see them in a few locations in the City so keep your eyes peeled!

These feature portraits and group work by the young people involved, and kindly, some info on ourselves and what we do!

We couldn’t be prouder of these guys and a huge thanks to all involved!

Hold on to your (witches) hats cause our annual Halloween Party is back! We’ll be at The Pitt on Tuesday 27th October serving up all the usual treats, scares, and Pumpkin carving/smashing goodness. The best part? it’s all completely free to attend!

We simply take register details the same as all our other youth clubs!

5pm tp 7pm for Families (under 11’s must be with an adult aged 18+)

7pm to 9pm for S2+ young people

As always, we have a best costume prize in each group, so please get creative and we will see you there!

Is it too early for the C word yet? …….. oh well

OUR ANNUAL CHRISTMAS FAIR IS BACK FOR THE 4TH YEAR IN A ROW🎄

This time taking place on Saturday the 28th of November at St David’s Episcopal Church from 2pm - 4pm.

Our families together group and other service users are working hard behind the scenes planning, getting creative and getting crafty to make sure it’s another great year.

We are on the look for donations for our tombola, raffle and bric a brac stalls so if you can help in anyway then please get in touch via social media or email [email protected]

All money raised from the fair goes straight back into GY projects.

Well done to Charley, Harris, Gus, Aidan,Saoirse, Tanu, Zoe, Leah, and Hannah - who just completed a six week long surfing course with Wave Project Scotland Lost Shore Surf Resort in Ratho, each earning Dynamic Youth Awards in the process!

We’ve been teaming up with Wave Project for a while now, and they are an amazing charity who use surfing to improve young peoples mental health and physical wellbeing! A huge thanks to Ru, and his team of staff and volunteers.

Cheers to Lost Shore and their staff for always being amazing and allowing young people to experience this amazing facility as well!

Last night we wrapped up what has been an amazing six-session arts project with National Galleries of Scotland inspired by the work of Catherine Opie and their “To Be Seen” exhibition.

The eight young people involved quickly took its themes of identity, community, and the way in which power structures dictate what we choose to show/hide about ourselves - and ran with them - creating some really cool drawings, photos, and creative writing pieces which will be appearing on billboards all over town really soon! The toughest part was last night where we had to decide what was on display!

The young people really bonded together over this experience and we’re excited for you (and them!) to see their work! A big thank you to Holly Yeoman and all the NGS staff, and our staff Lily, Jordan, and Summer for their invaluable help on this one!

We’ve teamed up with Minnesota Vikings flag football to take young people on their October Holiday Flag (American) Football camp in Edinburgh on 14th October!

This variant of traditional American Football allows young people to learn the game without any of those bone crunching tackles you see in the movies! All supported by qualified coaches and our youth work staff!

Transport and lunch also provided!
