🌟 Volunteering: Looking Back and Leaving a Legacy 🌟
As People Know How draws to a close, we’re taking a moment to reflect on one of our greatest strengths: our volunteers. Over the years, the team empowered hundreds of people to make a real difference, whether supporting children through school transitions, helping communities get digitally connected, or as part of the All Aboard canal boat. During the pandemic, the volunteer team was over a hundred at any one time, offering telephone support, refurbishing digital devices, and delivering them straight to people's doors.
👏 To every volunteer who gave their time, energy, and passion: thank you. You’ve helped shape a legacy of learning, inclusion, and compassion that will live on in the communities we served.
📣 One volunteer told us:
“Volunteering gave me a sense of purpose. I developed skills, met brilliant people, and realised I could make a real difference. It changed the direction of my life.”
Volunteering isn’t just support, it’s leadership, growth, and transformation. And we couldn’t have done it without you.
👉 If you’ve ever thought about volunteering, now is the time. Your skills and time can change lives. and often, your own.
💡 And if you’re part of a charity or community group, investing in your volunteering offer is one of the most powerful ways to build capacity, grow impact, and strengthen your community.
Let’s keep the legacy of volunteering alive. 🌱 Big thanks to partners like Volunteer Edinburgh and Volunteer Scotland for championing volunteering.
