Training With Us
To start with we will be training at the Calton Centre on a pay as you go basis. Depending on numbers, classes should cost around £3 per person. We aim to have one or two sessions a week to allow as many people to come along as possible. As membership grows we will be able to set up a more regular training pattern. You will be required to take membership of our governing body, th
e British Kendo Association (BKA), which is £10 for a temporary membership. This lasts for 3 months and provides insurance cover for training and is required for gradings. For your first few nights practice all you will require is tracksuit bottoms and a t-shirt. There after you will require some knee-pads (we do a lot of kneeling). If you have a bokken please feel welcome to bring it along, but don't feel that you need to go out and buy one to start with! Please note that this is not (currently) a University of Edinburgh Society and will only become so if and/or when accepted by the University of Edinburgh's society approval procedures.
