Introducing The Garden Kitchen! 🌱

We’re excited to be starting a new Gardening & Wellbeing Group at Drylaw Neighbourhood Centre.

Starting Thursday 15th October, The Garden Kitchen will be a weekly group where adults from Drylaw and Telford can come together, spend time outdoors, grow food, learn new skills and enjoy good food and company.

🌿 Every Thursday, 10am–2pm, sessions will include:
• Gardening and food growing
• Cooking and sharing a communal meal
• Learning practical skills
• Peer support and conversation
• Opportunities to gain new qualifications and experience

The group is a welcoming space for anyone experiencing loneliness, poor mental wellbeing or social isolation, and is all about building confidence, making connections and feeling part of the community.

There will also be opportunities to work towards a Food Hygiene Level 2 qualification and develop skills that could lead to volunteering or employment.

Drylaw's film night is tomorrow! 6pm-8.45 inc food and post-film discussion.

We still have some tickets available for this fascinating and entertaining documentary about access to our natural heritage, our landscape.
A merry band of trespassers intentionally access land held in private hands in England including bluebell forests and pristine beaches to shine a light on the unfair laws and customs of the English system. For balance, illuminating interviews with the landowners are also shared.

This film is preceded by lentil soup and bread at 6pm. Come and join us for a thought provoking and enjoyable evening.
Tickets on the door, cash or card, sliding scale: £3-£10.

The days are getting shorter, the mornings getting colder... Autumn is here!

We have a hearty, comforting menu for you all this Monday. Come in and warm up in the morning with our hot filled rolls and tea and coffee.

We have freshly made lentil soup on for lunch, with fruit crumble for dessert.

As always, this is for everyone in the community. You can sit in or take away your meal.

🎨 Holiday Craft Clubs are back!

Looking for something fun and creative for the October Break? Our holiday craft clubs are back, with plenty of making, creating and crafty fun! ✂️🖍️

📅 October 12th and 19th, 1-2:30pm
👧 Ages 5-12
🎟️ One session per child so we can give as many children as possible the chance to get involved!

The time has come! We are cooking the giant squash grown in the garden!

This Monday we have a squash-centred menu for our community lunch. A beautiful, creamy squash spaghetti - think carbonara with an Autumnal twist. For dessert, we're making a moist squash loaf cake - similar to carrot cake but even tastier.

The squash is a Marina Di Chioggia - an Italian variety often used to make pasta or fill ravioli. We'd love you to come along and find out how versatile and tasty squash can be. You can make all of these recipes with butternut squash, which is great to buy on offer because it lasts so long in the cupboard (literally months!).
