BANZAI is a volunteer-led climate action group working for a low-carbon community in the wider Bruntsfield area of Edinburgh.

*Sat 29th August CARGO BIKE EVENT!* Join us down the hill at NKS on Gillespie Street for a special edition of Weekend Wheels with our friends at ELREC Cycling Club. There'll be cargo bikes and cargo trikes to try, a smoothie bike, refreshments, Dr Bike and more. 1pm-4pm, free as always, all welcome. Made possible with Edinburgh Communities Climate Action Network support!

A fun visit today from our friends at Porty Community Energy bike library for the first of our weekend open door sessions made possible by Edinburgh Communities Climate Action Network Greenlight funding. Banzai Bike are looking for a new Community Cargo Bike Librarian! Interested in sustainable transport, practical climate action, and community based solutions? We’d love you to join our small Bike Library team, making cargo bikes accessible to families, community groups and local residents.

The role is:
🚴‍♀️Part time, around 6 hrs/wk, spread across the week
🚴‍♀️Freelance initially until 31 March 2027
🚴‍♀️ Based at home and at our hub on Bruntsfield Links
🚴‍♀️Starting as soon as possible

Wonderful day at the Canal festival! That's the only photo we managed at the end as we were so busy! We have lots of comments from the community for our local place plan and our bikes were in high demand! ❤️🚲

Hello friends! Pedal on Parliament is this Saturday, please come along and bring your family and friends to demonstrate that Scotland is keen and enthusiastic for a better active travel infrastructure - and safer roads!

We are going to meet at 10:40 at the Bruntsfield Links, by the cute BANZAI bike shed - you can't miss it, so nicely decorated by children!

Come along! We are waiting for you, helmets in hand (or better, on head 😉)

The National Emergency Briefing was a major event in communicating to politicians (and other powerful people) the true extent of the challenges we face from climate change and breeching multiple planetary boundaries. Action is more likely if we all understand the truth and turn up the pressure on politicians to acknowledge and deal with reality, rather than just keeping heads in the sand and hoping that somehow it'll just magically go away.

ECCAN are putting on screenings of the film followed by discussion (tomorrow, Wed, 3pm and 6.30pm) :

Film screening (50 mins)
Facilitated group discussion (1 hour)
The discussion is a key part of the event – offering space to reflect, share perspectives and explore what meaningful action could look like locally.
Open to ECCAN members, community groups and anyone interested in climate and nature action. No prior knowledge needed.
