We had a great day at porty beach wheelchairs today in the beautiful weather. 5 wheelchair hires, 3 volunteers and 1 chilli pistachio ice cream for me 😅

Beth our summer student is with us for one more week giving us loads of flexibility for hires before we're pre-booked only when we've volunteer availability. Make the most of this wee bit of sunshine and get booked in!

We're wanting to demonstrate the need for a Changing Places Toilet (CPT) on the prom as part of the planned upgrade. Can you help? Either comment below or PM us please. Some ideas of what we'd like to know.

* Do you need a CPT available so you can visit the beach at porty?
* Have you ever had to leave the beach early due to lack of a proper toilet?
* What would it mean to you, your family, your friends to have a CPT?
* What would it mean as a community to have a CPT available as part of an inclusive society?

Another successful hire at Portobello this week, Mihoko said.... "it was wonderful for my mum, she was able to enjoy the beach and spend time by the sea with her grandson, which would have been difficult without the wheelchair."

We are pleased to announce that we will be supporting accessibility at the Vogrie Pogrie Festival again this year!

We have had a very busy week at Portobello including an extra special booking by Paul, Pam and Stuart who have been away to Tiree with the Debug chair.

They were kind enough to share these amazing pictures from their holidays and said the chair was absolutely brilliant on the beaches!

Beach Wheelchairs are delighted to be attending the Volunteer Recruitment Fair on 1st September!

We’re always looking for wonderful volunteers to join our team and help us continue the work we do across North Berwick, Portobello and Seton Sands.

Volunteering with Beach Wheelchairs is an incredibly rewarding role, helping people of all ages and abilities access and enjoy our beautiful beaches, something that simply wouldn’t be possible for many without the right equipment and support.

We are proud to be providing accessibility at Balgone Estate Sunflower Trail and PYO event.

You can hire our Debug and Hippocampe chairs but make sure you book in advance because there is limited availability!

It was lovely to see Robert and Betty back at Portobello last week, they managed to travel the whole beach with several stops for refreshments and even bumped into a couple of friends. They said they had the perfect day!
