Another evening spent outdoors tonight. This time it was our Scouts, who were taking part in a Fire and Ice Challenge at Bonaly. The objective is simple - who can retrieve their key from the block of ice first? Can you build your fire up before the melting ice puts it out?

This evening our Castlelaw Cub Pack went for a bike ride in our local area and up to the foothills of the Pentlands. It was an excellent turn out - 26 cubs, 6 leaders and some enthusiastic parent helpers all had a great time!

Congratulations to Sarah, a committed volunteer with Castlelaw Cubs and 114th Scouts, on receiving her Queen’s Scout Award this evening. This is the top award for young people in Scouting and a phenomenal achievement. Well done!

On Friday our scouts took part in a night hike from Harlaw Reservoir back to Fairmilehead Church taking in Harbour Hill, Capelaw Hill and Allermuir Hill. It was a lovely night for it, and we had great fun.

That’s us home from another great Summer Camp. An excellent week away packed full of activities, team work and fun.

We were looking forward to sharing all of our photos with you, but the camera was left in the middle of a field in the Lake District.... we’ll make sure we share them as soon as we are reunited!

For now, here’s one of us enjoying our final campfire last night!

A fun night to end another great year of scouting in Fairmilehead.

Tonight we had a wide game in the Pentland Hills followed by a ceremony to award the badges our scouts have been working on over the term - this year our Scouts collectively earned 225 badges!!!
