Would you like to volunteer in our seed patches?

The farm produces a lot of its own seed because we know that if we produce our seed well, it makes for way healthier plants than anything we buy. Seed learns to adapt to our soil and climate. Year-on-year we produce more seed, and hopefully get better at it!

We could do with some extra hands with this year's seed crops to give them the best chance of success. If you're interested in helping out and learning more about seed production...

💚 It's picked to order so it's fresh and nutritious
💚 Encourages you to eat seasonally
💚 You know where your food comes from
💚 Less packaging
💚 Invests in the local community
💚 Food travels fewer miles

When you choose to shop local this way you support food diversity and resilience because you’re investing in better methods. Our producers must meet certain guidelines to ensure what we are putting out there is healthy for humans, nature and the planet.

Enjoy... at the Drylaw Neighbourhood Centre.

We have a delicious menu planned for Monday's Community Lunch! Come along 11:30am - 12:30pm for some tasty spaghetti bolognese (made with fresh tomatoes and basil saved by Tummies Not Trash) and apple pie for dessert.

Our Community Lunch is free for everyone, and you can sit in or take away.

We also have our breakfast cafe running until 10:30am with hot breakfast rolls and hot drinks too!

Along stories of other brilliant food producers, it includes a photo story of Edinburgh Agroecology Coop's Lauriston Farm by Sophie Gerrard, and Iona Lee's poem inspired by the farm's Seed Kist.

The season of local community festivals is getting underway!

We are delighted to be a part of this year's North Edinburgh Community Festival. We will have a joint stall with our friends from Granton Community Gardeners. Come say hi! 👋

The North Edinburgh Community Festival is a free, family-friendly festival. Loads of activities, stalls, live music, workshops, food, parade, sports, skills and learning.
