It's that time of year to celebrate community growing!

2026 marks15 years since Lochend Secret Garden opened and we're celebrating with a garden party.

Join us on Saturday 11th July between 11am and 3pm for free food and drink (birthday cake of course and cocktails and mocktails).

Open to members and non-members. Party clothes encouraged!

🌿 Drylaw Good Apples - Orchard Holiday Club 🌿

Come along for a fun afternoon of outdoor activities, crafts, and nature-based play in the East Orchard!

📅 Wednesdays: 15th, 22nd & 29th July, and 5th August
🕑 2:00pm – 4:00pm

Each week we'll have a different activity to enjoy:
🌱 Miniature Gardens to take away
✨ Dream Catchers
🐞 Bug Hunting and Nature Art
🌞 Bubble Making and Hammocks

🎉 Free to attend – no booking required!

All children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult.

There's still time to get involved with seeds at Edinburgh Agroecology Coop's Lauriston Farm. Check this out.

Would you like to volunteer in our seed patches?

The farm produces a lot of its own seed because we know that if we produce our seed well, it makes for way healthier plants than anything we buy. Seed learns to adapt to our soil and climate. Year-on-year we produce more seed, and hopefully get better at it!

We could do with some extra hands with this year's seed crops to give them the best chance of success. If you're interested in helping out and learning more about seed production...

⛓️‍💥 The ‘Broken Food System’ is often mentioned…. BUT buying and supporting local produce can help fix that!

💚 It's picked to order so it's fresh and nutritious
💚 Encourages you to eat seasonally
💚 You know where your food comes from
💚 Less packaging
💚 Invests in the local community
💚 Food travels fewer miles

When you choose to shop local this way you support food diversity and resilience because you’re investing in better methods. Our producers must meet certain guidelines to ensure what we are putting out there is healthy for humans, nature and the planet.
