Voluntary Arts Ambassador - FIFE

Voluntary Arts Ambassador - FIFE Representing FIFE in highlighting the arts and connecting with local self-led voluntary arts groups to reflect their issues, hopes and concerns.

www.voluntaryarts.org Voluntary Arts aims to promote participation in the arts and crafts across the UK and Republic of Ireland. We recognise that they are a key part of our culture and as such they are absolutely vital to our health, social and economic development. Over half the UK adult population is involved in the voluntary arts and crafts – those arts and crafts that people undertake for sel

f-improvement, social networking and leisure, but not primarily for payment. They are wide-ranging and include folk, dance, drama, literature, media, music, visual arts, crafts and applied arts, and festivals. Voluntary Arts works with policy makers, funders and politicians to improve the environment for everyone participating in the arts, and we provide information and training to those who participate in the voluntary arts sector. This includes over 300 national and regional umbrella bodies, and through them, their member groups of local voluntary arts practitioners.

I have officially let Voluntary Arts know that I can no longer continue as Arts Ambassador for Fife. Its been fun but I want to do my own things and move up in the world. I've met some nice people along the way, hopefully helped some too. Luck and love to all the current ambassadors and thanks for the support!

In March we asked people to get creative and imitate a piece of art, here are all their weird, wonderful and wacky entries! We will be asking a crack team of art critics to choose their favourite imitation to be displayed at a special exhibition later in the year. You can email your creations to [email protected] or upload them via the link below

Good afternoon creative people of facebook! Do you understand the benefits of taking part in arts and craft activities? Do you want to get more people involved in the creative work you do? Are you passionate about raising the bar for amateur arts & crafts and getting more support from funders and policy makers?

Then get involved in Voluntary Arts Week and help raise awareness of the voluntary arts and craft sector...be part of something bigger!

If you have a participatory arts/craft event planned to take place between 11-19 May you can list it on the Voluntary Arts Week website and we'll help you spread the word!

You can also get involved in the first ever National CraftBomb and get creative in your community to help launch the week. Download an info pack and get more details on the Voluntary Arts Week website - www.voluntaryartsweek.org
