❗ Join the Global Fight to End Fossil Fuels

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Edinburgh Climate March 🌍

Join us for a family-friendly march in Edinburgh for a Global Days of Action against fossil fuels. Join us to call on l Scottish, UK and Global governments to put workers, communities and planet ahead of corporate oil profits.

If Scotland wants to be a climate leader it must give an unapologetic and resounding “NO” to new oil and gas projects, and formulate a plan for a rapid transition away from fossil fuels that centres workers and empowers local communities.

We will assemble on the Mound in central Edinburgh at 11am and march towards the Scottish parliament via the UK Government building. Everyone is welcome, the more of us there, the louder our message!

12PM 31ST MARCH - ST NICHOLAS STREET SQUARE, ABERDEEN

On Thursday, the UK Government will launch a new "net zero strategy" in Europe's Oil Capital, Aberdeen. This announcement will be filled with green washing, empty promises and allow for further oil and gas development in the North Sea, according to the Guardian. The UK Government has continued to ignore the warnings of scientists, just last week the IPCC released their sixth assessment report which spoke of the severe consequences of the climate crisis and reminded us that immediate action is needed. We are angry, we cannot allow for governments and corporations to continue investing in fossil fuels when we desperately need a just transition towards renewables.

This Friday, the 31st of March, the last day of North East Scotland Climate Week, we will come together to demand the government listens to the science.

Students at the University of Aberdeen from across different faculties and societies will gather outside the Sir Duncan Rice Library at 11am, then walk to the city centre to rally at St Nicholas Street Square at 12pm. Workers, teachers, friends and family are all invited to join us to fight for the change we need. We need everyone! See you there!

ARE YOU LISTENING EQUINOR? 🔥

Oil company Equinor recently announced £62 billion in profit from last year, more than Shell and BP combined. This is a record breaking amount of money for the company, at the same time millions across the UK cannot afford to heat their homes. This is unacceptable. The rich are getting richer, while ordinary people are suffering and exploited, carbon emissions rise and the climate crisis worsens. We need a just transition now, and climate justice to hold these corporations accountable.

Today we shared this message with Equinor outside their office in Aberdeen, the oil capital of Europe, a city where ordinary people have not seen a penny in recent years of the billions being made from North Sea oil and gas. The money is going straight into the pockets of the wealthy. Today we also told Equinor that the Rosebank Oilfield will have devastating ecological and environmental consequences, it will not solve the energy crisis we face but worsen the climate crisis. We demanded that Equinor and other oil companies commit to no new oil and gas projects, and the government take action.

One year since COP26. Thank you to everyone who turned out to march with us last Friday! The rain may have put a damper on things towards the beginning but the youth turned out anyway - (and F**** THE TORIES)

Only one week left till we march for climate justice on october 28th to mark 1 year since COP26 took place in Glasgow.

1 year ago Glasgow hosted COP26; where world leaders turned their backs on the communities of the Global South, where they filled our ears with their empty promises, where our generation was
abandoned!

Whats scarier than the climate crisis? Join us next friday to spook the government this halloween!
