Can't make it to the Edinburgh Fringe? The Fringe comes to you! 🎻

This week, the wards at Edinburgh's Children's Hospital filled with live music - turning bedsides into front-row seats and long days in hospital into a little Fringe fun.

A huge thank you to the wonderful musicians from Recitals for Wrigglers for bringing their performances to children and families who couldn't make it out to the Festival. ❤️

⚽️ A football lesson from the Hibs captain? Yes please.

Wonderful ECHC volunteer Joe Newell spent the afternoon at Edinburgh Children's Hospital kicking a ball around with children in hospital. For a little while, thoughts about appointments took a back seat as they scored goals and made memories they'll remember long after the visit. 💚

A huge thank you to Joe for making such a special day happen. ❤️

A soothing song, live from the cotside. 🎶

Our musician Domi swapped the usual bedside jam sessions for something softer - a gentle ukulele tune, played for the tiniest audience of one.

When you're in intensive care for a long time, a bit of gentle music can bring calm to a hard day. ❤️

Our wonderful musician Domi swaps the stage for the wards, bringing cheerful songs to sing along to and a chance for children to become part of the band. Every bedside jam session brings a little moment of lightness in the middle of a hospital stay. ❤️

🎵 But he would walk 110 miles... 🚶‍♂️

After completing a coast-to-coast walk from Ayr to Haddington, Headteacher Mark Becher, known to pupils as Mr B, has raised more than £6,400 for children and families facing life-changing hospital stays..

Having celebrated a milestone birthday this year, he decided to Mark the occasion (pun intended) by taking on an incredible challenge while raising funds for those who need it most.

Even when blisters made the challenge tougher than expected, Mr B kept putting one foot in front of the other.

He says, “The support we received both online via donations and words of encouragement meant that there was no way that we would not finish this challenge.”

Thank you so much Mr B for showing that while strong legs can carry you across Scotland, it’s an even stronger heart that helps raise vital funds for children and families who need it most. ❤️
