TEENS+

TEENS+ TEENS+ is a transitional education programme for young adults with complex additional support needs.

TEENS+ is a 4 year transitional education programme for young people aged 17-24 with complex additional support needs and severe communication problems, who have left school. The programme comprises an extension of the students’ previous education, with emphasis on the transition to a more independent life in the community. The programme is based at the Inch Community Centre, Edinburgh providing a

n inclusive community environment. It comprises of 4 different elements: learning; communication; life skills; and sports. Stage two of the project, LIFE+, is an education and training programme for people with complex additional support needs and severe communication problems. The project offers the opportunity to try work placements and continue life long learning. LIFE+ builds upon the students' previous education and skills, with an emphasis on training in employability skills, such as: building relationships; negotiation skills; communication skills and time management skills. LIFE+ will continue the students' lifelong learning and all students will participate in the work module - working in a support environment.

No two days at Teens+ look the same!

One morning, you might run a life-skills session.
By lunchtime, you’re supporting a student to cook.
By the afternoon, you’re out in the community building confidence.

As a Project Worker, you’ll create simple, tailored learning experiences that meet each young person where they are.

If you like thinking outside the box and making learning engaging, this role is for you.

World Horse Appreciation Day🐴

At our Liberton Brae Centre, one of our students regularly visits the stables, where they spend time grooming and caring for the horses, something they really enjoy and connect with❤️

We strongly advocate that our students have input into their timetable. Activities like this offer a great mix of responsibility, routine, and time outdoors, while also giving space to follow individual interests.

Getting Stuck In at Liberton Brae🍓🌱

Some of our students at our Liberton Brae Centre have been out volunteering their time, helping to w**d and care for strawberry plants as part of their outdoor activities.

It’s been a great way to build practical skills, spend time outdoors, and contribute to caring for the space around them❤️

First Aid in Action⛑️💜

This student from our East Lothian Centre has been working hard to complete first aid training and is already putting those new skills into practice.

It’s been great to see that knowledge being used in real situations, and he’s quickly earning himself the title of our very own “First Aid King”!🤴

A brilliant example of learning skills that really matter day to day!
