✨We're recruiting for a compassionate, proactive and community-led Project Worker to join our team. ✨

This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference by developing and delivering services that empower families, strengthen community connections and improve outcomes for children and parents.

As a Project Worker, you will:

-Plan and deliver inclusive, engaging groups, workshops, activities and family programmes.
Coordinate Easter and summer holiday programmes, seasonal celebrations and community events.

-Facilitate perinatal, family learning and parental support groups.

-Create welcoming opportunities that reduce isolation and build confidence, resilience and community connections, including our Community Lunch.

-Build strong partnerships with local organisations, community groups and agencies.

-Listen to families, identify emerging needs and help develop accessible, responsive services.

-Support volunteers, peer supporters and student placements.

-Monitor and evaluate activities, gather feedback and record outcomes to demonstrate impact.

-Contribute to community engagement, fundraising and the wider work of Dr Bell’s.

❄️💙 Winter Jacket & Clothes Appeal 🧡❄️

As the colder months approach, we’re asking our wonderful community to help us make sure local families have access to warm clothing this winter.

Our clothes rail has now been moved to The Hub in the Centre. Please place jumpers and jackets on the rail where there is space. If the rail is full, these can be placed in the black box beside the rail. Hats, scarves and gloves can be placed in the green box next to the rail.

Please remember:

* We can only accept clean items that are in good condition.
* Unfortunately, we cannot accept further donations when the rail and boxes are full, so please check there is space before leaving anything.
* If you or your family need warm winter clothing, please help yourself to anything on the rail or in the boxes — it’s there for our community to use.

Every donation can help someone stay warm and comfortable this winter. Thank you for supporting our Dr Bell’s community. 💙🧡❄️

Meet Our New Community Development Manager! 🧡💙

We’re delighted to share that Toni has stepped into the role of Community Development Manager!

Many of you will already know Toni, who has been part of our team for the past four years, previously working as our Community Development Officer.

During this time, she has built strong relationships with our families, staff, and local partners, and has played an important role in supporting and developing the work of the centre.

We’re so pleased to see her progress into this new role, where she’ll continue to help strengthen our community, support local families, and ensure our centre remains a welcoming, inclusive and supportive space for everyone.

🏴 We’re getting kilted up for Leith! 🥾

For 20 years, we’ve been proud to support children, young people and families across Leith — and now, our team is taking on the Edinburgh Kiltwalk to help us continue that journey.

In just 2 days, we’ll be swapping our usual day-to-day for tartan, trainers and a whole lot of determination as we take on the Kiltwalk together!

This challenge is about more than the walk. It’s about celebrating 20 years of supporting families, strengthening our community and making a difference — while raising vital funds to help us continue this work for years to come.

So, we’re getting kilted up for the community and taking every step with the families we support in mind. 💙
