Not the ideal start to Royal Highland Show: someone pinched the seats from the SVR gazebo overnight 😡We know military people are known for standing to attention, but come on! Our volunteers and staff would prefer the option to take the weight of their feet thank you!

Undeterred, we have now sent for reinforcement chairs and, despite this minor setback, we are raring to go💪 So please come and say hello.

You will find the Scottish Veterans Residences (SVR) stand in 1st Ave of the Lifestyle Village of the showground. Just look for the big wheel and we're close by. We will be on hand from Thursday to Sunday to talk about our charity's work providing supported housing to Veterans experiencing homelessness, and sharing information about our new occupational therapy-focused Foothold project.

Our thanks to the kind people from investment company Invesis, who very thoughtfully reached out to Scottish Veterans Residences (SVR) to make a donation of six lovely bouquets to brighten up our Edinburgh residence Whitefoord House. Thank you so much🙏💐

It's , and Scottish Veterans Residences (SVR) got involved by returning to Loch Leven for our annual cycling round one of Scotland's beauty spots. We had Veterans from all 3 SVR residences taking part in the 13-mile route, and even somehow managed to dodge the rain showers. Our thanks to Sinclair Cycles Loch Leven for their support 🙏

On this day (6 June) in 1944 D-Day - the largest amphibious invasion in the history of warfare took place in Normandy, France. We remember and pay tribute to the bravery of all involved and those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

The statistics of D-Day, codenamed Operation Overlord, are staggering. The Allies used over 5,000 ships and landing craft to land more than 150,000 troops on five beaches in Normandy. The operation began the liberation of France and the rest of Western Europe, and laid the foundations for the Allied victory on the Western Front.

Scottish Veterans Residences (SVR) have a mixed group of residents away on an activities trip in Moffat this week, and the first full day was great fun. The Veterans took part in Canadian canoeing with some 'swimming' 🤓, biking at Glentress Forest and then golf in the evening. Darren, our Activities Co-ordinator said: "Moffat, as always, is delivering the goods and the weather was kind to us! It was a long day but the troops are really enjoying the experience and the outdoor environment."
