Refugee Week Event: Stand Up To Racism, Thurs 18th June 5-8pm

As part of Refugee Week 2026, Stand Up To Racism Edinburgh & Lothians is delighted to invite you to an evening celebrating the rich diversity of our city and the contributions refugees have made to our communities.

Refugee Week: In Conversation With Refugees in Scotland

πŸ“ Southside Community Centre, 117 Nicholson St, Edinburgh

The evening will feature live music from a Kurdish musician, as well as the acclaimed West African group Diwan, who have performed across the UK- as well as at the Jazz Bar and the BBC. Following the performances there will be opportunities to hear from members of refugee communities and to meet others involved in building solidarity and welcoming communities across Edinburgh.

At a time when refugees and asylum seekers are too often subjected to hostility and scapegoating, Refugee Week offers an opportunity to come together in celebration, friendship and solidarity.

A huge thank you to all the lovely families who booked the aviemore trip with us! We’re really excited for a fun weekend together exploring beautiful scenery, visiting the reindeer, enjoying the mountain railway, and making great memories 😊
