Visitors at Old Pentland Cemetry: FoP members will be aware that Old Pentland Cemetery is one our more recent conservation and restoration sites. Work there is progressing well with the permission of the landowner and periodic assistance from local residents and Midlothian Council.
This week we were delighted to welcome a group of some 20 Penicuik-based students of the University of the Third Age (U3A). The enthusiastic visitors were given an impromptu talk and then a tour of the site. This went down very well and there were several comments on how much improved the condition of site was, as compared to a few years ago.

Not sure whether this will be Father's Day Fun or Mid-Summer Madness, but it will be in a very good cause! FoP secretary, Ian Walford, and his daughter, Rachel, will be walking 30 miles from Leith along the Water of Leith and then down the Pentland Way on 20th June (the day before Father's Day) to raise awareness of the wonderful work of Anne Hope House in Edinburgh where Rachel is a staff member.
