🌼 Volunteer opportunity! 🌼

We are currently seeking a new Lanarkshire District Organiser.

The District Organiser leads the team and oversees garden openings through the season, making sure garden owners know what to expect from their open day and have the right support.

At the heart of our charity are around a thousand volunteer organisers and garden owners, without whom there would be no gardens to visit.

Call for Lanarkshire Garden Owners and Volunteers to join Scotland’s Gardens Scheme in 2026!

Scotland’s Gardens Scheme (SGS) is calling on individuals, community groups, and entire villages to get involved by volunteering, or throwing open their garden gates in 2026 to raise money for good causes.

SGS is encouraging anyone with a passion for plants—whether a seasoned horticulturist or an enthusiastic amateur—to get involved by opening their garden to the public for one or more days or joining forces with neighbours to create a garden trail in your village, street or local area.

And you don’t have to open your garden to get involved. The charity is also seeking garden-loving volunteers to support the Lanarkshire Garden opening programme in 2026. SGS would love to hear from anyone keen to bring their skills to help raise funds for charity through garden open days – whether you’re an organiser, baker, social media enthusiast, gardener or have other skills to contribute, there is a role for you.

SGS has been opening gardens since 1931 and is one of Scotland’s longest standing volunteer networks. To find out more or have an informal chat:
