📣📣 Edinburgh R**e Crisis Centre is seeking a principled and experienced Chief Executive Officer to lead ERCC’s skilled and dynamic team and work collaboratively with our Board of Directors to deliver the organisation’s strategic plan and objectives.

You will be an experienced senior manager with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and have a track record in strategic planning, people management, fundraising and charity finance management, and successful multi-agency partnership work.

You will have a clear understanding of and commitment to trauma-informed, feminist management and leadership.

Our Student and Young People’s (SYP) Service offers counselling support to students and young people who have experienced any kind of sexual harm - something that you didn’t want, didn’t feel okay or made you feel uncomfortable.

This could have happened in-person or online, recently or when you were a younger child.

We support young people of all genders, aged 12+ who live in Edinburgh, East Lothian and Midlothian.

We can offer emotional and practical support sessions where you can use the time in any way you choose, this can be up to 18 sessions. These can be in person, online or over the phone.

Our Prevention Team and Student and Young People’s Team had a great day at the 16 Days event at St David’s School during the 16 Days to End Violence Against Women.

They met lots of pupils from different years who participated in activities about sexual violence. See the photos for what pupils wrote down what they thought were Red Flags and Green Flags in relationships.

📣✨We’re delighted to start off the new year sharing some wonderful news celebrating the outstanding contributions of our Art Therapists at Edinburgh R**e Crisis Centre.

Congratulations to: our Art Therapists ⁠Lillian Shipton and Heather Dimarco, who were awarded the Inclusive and Anti-Oppressive Practice Award by the British Association of Art Therapists for their inclusive art therapy groups for survivors of sexual violence at Edinburgh R**e Crisis Centre. ⁠

Against a back-drop of financial instability for r**e crisis centres, Heather and Lillian have not only sustained their art therapy groups but also deepened their commitment to ensuring that no survivor is left without access to vital creative and ther**eutic support, regardless of their gender expression or identity.

Awards were given after a thorough review by a panel of esteemed judges, including MP Sonia Kumar. We’re grateful to all the judges, and everyone who made a nomination.

Festive Opening Hours

Edinburgh R**e Crisis Centre’s support service will be closed from 5pm on Friday 19 December 2025 and re-open on Monday 5 January 2026.

This time of year can be especially difficult for survivors. If you want to talk to someone, R**e Crisis Scotland’s helpline will be open every evening over the festive period between 5pm-midnight (closing at 11pm on Christmas Day and Hogmanay).

‘Derby Day’, a new writing drama from debuts at Edinburgh Fringe 2025 after their success with 5-star show Wish You Were Here.

The play addresses the damage caused by the sexual abuse, unbroken cycles of violence and knife crime that threaten working-class communities throughout Scotland. This piece has lived-experience at its core.

Without Compromise Theatre is a Fife new writing company dedicated to telling honest, working class stories with the mission to engage diverse and undertepresented audiences

This new role, Survivor Engagement Worker (21 hrs, £34,070 pro-rata) will play a central role in building, supporting and sustaining a vibrant and inclusive survivor community. We are looking for someone passionate about amplifying survivor voices and fostering a sense of agency and peer-support through establishing a community of survivors. You will be empathetic, a skilled facilitator and collaborative, with a deep belief in the power of lived experience to drive systemic change.
