Face2Face

Face2Face F2F develops communication competence in primary aged children to improve social snd emotional well being and resilience - the building blocks for life.

About the course.....

With a recent report quoting that British children are clocking up 6 hours of screen time per day (computer, TV, phone, kindle etc) it is no surprise that young people often find it challenging to communicate face to face. We can’t stop the use of screens as of course we need them and they are extremely valuable in our society for countless reasons including a fantastic tea

ching medium. However it has been proven that children cannot learn interpersonal skills with online interaction and we know that learning at computer speed can lead to children finding it difficult to concentrate and regulate their behaviour in everyday situations. After observing children in a variety of social settings it is clear that most children would benefit from some additional support in this area. Additional support using the Principles of Attuned Communication will enhance basic communication skills, promote confidence and aid concentration. Face2Face was born .......

Face2Face aims to promote and encourage positive interaction and attunement in a safe and supportive environment. The six week course will develop the pupils’ social and emotional skills with a strong focus on self awareness and self – regulation. The aim will be to develop communication competence thus strengthening social and emotional well-being and resilience – the building blocks for life. The course will be underpinned by strengthening the pupil’s emotional intelligence: self awareness, impulse control, persistence, motivation and empathy, “the qualities that mark people who excel: whose relationships flourish, who are stars in the work place.” Daniel Goleman

We are passionate about nurturing and strengthening the skills and qualities which are necessary for young people to thrive in education and go on to be successful in their chosen career and life. The programme will be highly participative using challenging games, activities, video feedback and positive reinforcement. Face2Face aims to:

* Develop cognitive,social & emotional well being
* Improve communication skills
* Increase self awareness
* Improve confidence and self esteem
* Encourage valuable life skills in a fun environment
* Reactivate interpersonal skills that maybe underused in this high tech environment we live in
