S**A celebrated Easter in the best way possible, with a joyful potluck and an absolutely mouth-watering spread! 🐣✨

We kicked things off with a heartfelt prayer led by our president, Arun. Then came the highlight, indulging in all the amazing food and delicious desserts (worth every bite!). πŸ˜‹

With happy hearts and full bellies, we moved on to games, men vs women, which brought lots of laughs, friendly competition, and unforgettable moments.

Some of us even took to the mic to show off our singing talents, adding even more fun and laughter to the celebration! 🎀🎢

Such a lovely time spent together, already looking forward to the next one!
Happy Easter everyone! πŸŒΈπŸ’›

S**A Spreads Christmas Cheer at Inaugural Holiday Party!

The Scottish United Konkani Association (S**A) hosted its first-ever Christmas party on December 26th at Cuthbert Hall, bringing together families and friends for a day of festive joy. The celebrations began with a moment of reflection through prayers, followed by a lively session of carol singing where everyone joined in with great enthusiasm.
Our President, Arun Rego, served as a wonderful host, ensuring every guest felt welcomed and entertained throughout the day. The energy remained high with a series of fun games that saw many lucky winners take home exciting prizes.
The highlights of the evening included a "foot-tapping" dance performance by S**A members and a high-energy set from DJ Annu Poojari, whose music kept the dance floor packed all night long. To keep everyone fueled, a spread of delicious food was served, leaving every guest satisfied.
Overall, the event was a resounding success thanks to the incredible enthusiasm of our S**A members and the wonderful community that graced us with their presence.

Braving the snow on the 23rd of Nov 2024, the S**A group met up for a cozy Brunch at 42nd Pentland Scout Group, Currie. There was good chats and banter over homemade hot foods like Sabudana Vadas, Sajige Bajil, Kesari, Semiya Upma, Anda Burjee and many more mouthwatering dishes alongwith a constant supply of tea and coffees.
Talents like singing were wonderfully displayed. Everyone put on their thinking hats as there was a flurry of riddles to solve. Games and dancing kept us all on our toes too. We enjoyed spending some much needed time as a community.
The children learning konkani took to stage to amaze us with the progress they are making in learning the language.

With good laugh and some dancing we ended the day with warm hearts to fight the cold .

On the first of April 2024 the S**A gathered to celebrate Easter with great joy.
Families from various parts of Edinburgh joined together for an afternoon of fun and fellowship. Along with getting to know each other the community enjoyed some ice breakers and fun games. Kids were given tokens of appreciations for participating in the flagship Konkani classes started to encourage kids to learn and speak Konkani. The children also enjoyed hunting for Easter eggs after indulging in a scrumptious Mangalorean feast prepared lovingly by each family. The day ended with energetic Mangalorean Baila that got everyone on to the dance floor.
