🏆 A golden moment in Edinburgh Branch history!

In 1965, our Demonstration Team competed at the Scottish Country Dance Festival for a brand-new trophy donated by the Cussons family. Crafted in solid gold by Hamilton & Inches, it was valued at the remarkable sum of £800.

After months of rehearsals and a tense competition against strong rivals from Dumfries, the Edinburgh team emerged victorious. The trophy was presented by Alastair Dunnett, Editor of The Scotsman, and each team member received a silver quaich to mark the occasion.

The celebrations may have been limited to coffee when the Caley Hotel bar had already closed, but the memories have lasted a lifetime. One thing is certain—Allie Anderson took the trophy home that night and slept with it under her bed for safekeeping!
