Access to Industry

Access to Industry Access to Industry works across Scotland with unemployed people who face barriers to employment. Registered Scottish charity (SC030186)

We do this through the creation and development of innovative and effective education and training programmes that encourage and facilitate access to employment and higher education opportunities. Our programmes help people to develop essential core skills such as communications, information technology and problem solving. We also provide specific training and skills relevant to key sectors such a

s hospitality, retail and the public sector. All our courses are delivered through partnerships with leading education and training providers throughout Scotland. We also work closely with employers to provide supported work experience placements. Our programmes are tailored to the needs of those who are moving on from particularly challenging backgrounds, including care, prison and substance use. To deliver these programmes we work in partnership with a wide range of other organisations and care providers. In these programmes, we offer group work activity complemented by a one-to-one approach. This personalised approach ensures much higher success rates for those involved.

We're excited that our Wellbeing Through Photography group will be a part of Art Walk Projects' Art Walk Weekends (5-6 & 12-13 Sep).

Our showcase will be on 'Route 5' and will touch on the changes in emotion that are experienced when land, sea, sky and people meet.

Our Moving Forward young people have been attending a special summer Employability Group, in collaboration with Skills Development Scotland, working on communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills.

They also played a game of 'interview pass the parcel' – exploring some of the more unusual questions that may come up in interviews. Shout out to Tyler for winning the goodies!
