A Huge Thank You to Our Volunteers – The Heart of Sea Cadets

This week, we want to recognise and thank every single volunteer across our District who gives their time, skills, passion and commitment to supporting the Sea Cadet movement.

Whether you are a Uniformed Volunteer, Civilian Instructor, Trustee, Unit Management Team member, or support volunteers behind the scenes, your contribution is invaluable. Every parade night, training session, boating activity, fundraising event, committee meeting and administrative task helps create opportunities that positively shape the lives of young people throughout our communities.

Because of your dedication, cadets gain confidence, develop leadership skills, learn teamwork, make lifelong friendships and experience activities that many would never otherwise have the opportunity to enjoy. The impact you make extends far beyond the unit doors and helps develop the next generation of responsible, capable and resilient young people.

A special thank you also to our District Team, whose hard work, commitment and support help our units continue to have the support to thrive and provide the very best opportunities for our cadets and volunteers alike.

As we look to the future, all of our units across the District are currently seeking new volunteers to join their teams. You do not need previous military experience, maritime knowledge or specialist qualifications – just enthusiasm, commitment and a desire to make a difference.

Volunteering with Sea Cadets offers so many benefits, including:

⚓ Making a real difference in young people's lives
⚓ Learning new skills and gaining qualifications
⚓ Developing leadership and instructional experience
⚓ Building friendships and becoming part of a fantastic team
⚓ Supporting your local community
⚓ Taking part in exciting activities and events
⚓ Personal development and increased confidence

Whether you can give a few hours a week, help occasionally, or take on a more regular role, there is a place for you within the Sea Cadet family.

If you've ever thought about volunteering, now is the perfect time to get involved. Together, we can continue providing life-changing opportunities for young people across our District.

To find out more about volunteering opportunities, please get in touch with your local Sea Cadet unit or contact the District Team.

Your time changes lives. Your support matters. Your volunteering makes a difference.

Ma'am is once again strapping on her running shoes to raise much-needed funds for the unit! As an independent charity we require to raise all of our own funds to cover all aspects of unit life - not just to buy exciting kit but also to keep the lights on, the minibus filled with fuel and the heating working overtime

Ma'am will be running the Alicante Half Marathon on 22 February and has a sponsorship page, linked below. Any and all donations are gratefully received and will go directly to support the work we do in our community. Thank you!
