The Edinburgh Settlement is a multipurpose organization with a rich history spanning more than 100 years of local community activity. We are part of the international settlement movement; a global network of social action centres which aim to work closely with communities, representing and responding to their different needs and aspirations to promote social and environmental justice and help bring about effective and lasting community development.

Incredible to see such a turnout of community solidarity on Leith Walk today, with representation from unions, local groups and campaigners such as Zionism- Free Leith, Resisting Transphobia Edinburgh and Living Rent.

The demonstration was organised following the targeted violent attacks against our Muslim community that took place this Friday night across Edinburgh and Leith Walk.
This blatant display of racism is enraging and heartbreaking.

As part of the demonstration today, local residents made a patchwork banner which is now installed in our shop window. We hope its messages will be a reminder of solidarity to those who walk past.

Settlement Projects is a space where everybody is welcome, and where racism and discrimination will never be tolerated.

⭐️ New open hours! ⭐️ There’s a slight change to our open hours from today ~ We are now open from 12 - 5pm on Mondays & Fridays. The other days throughout the week will remain the same as usual, and we will be remaining closed on Sundays.

Vava Maudit are from Zurich, Switzerland and started in 2022. It's going to be a duo with various winds against various drums. They are going to be combining flutes + traps in ways you probably never knew were possible, and some things you had always hoped were possible.

Vsevolod Plotkin are from Ireland and sound a bit like flipper but more self deprecating. Slice of life and slice of guitar. Coming from Dublin. Expect a set combining the joy of a toddler getting their first drum machine for xmas with the bitter rage of middle age.

Cowboy Builder was established in 2019 and features members of Dr. VZX Moist and Bamya.

Their most recent release is the 40m travel diary ORGANS EP in 2023. For the past 3 years they have operated as a 4 piece with double drum parts. This year they will be playing as a stripped down two-piece of guitar and drums playing against arrhythmic samples.
