📣 Could you be the person who makes a difference? 💙

Every week, across Edinburgh, Leith & District and communities throughout the Lothians, volunteers help young people have fun, learn new skills, build confidence and discover what they can achieve.

Sometimes, the person who turns up each week, encourages them to have another go, or simply believes in them can become the person they remember for years to come. 🙌

Could that be you?

🎓 Studying Childcare, Education or Youth Work?
🏘️ Passionate about your local community?
💙 Looking for a rewarding way to give something back?
🙋 Or simply want to try something new?

You don't need to be a teacher, youth worker or BB expert. Full training and support are provided, and we'll guide you through the PVG process, with support available where required.

And it's not just about what you can give. Make new friends, learn new skills, get outdoors and take part in camps, activities and adventures. 🌳🏕️

You don't have to change the world. Just help change one young person's world. 💙

🚢 The Logos Hope is Coming to Edinburgh! ⚓
Exciting news for all Edinburgh Boys' Brigade Companies, young people, and our local community: the Logos Hope ship is officially dropping anchor here next month!

If you haven't heard of it before, the Logos Hope is the world's largest floating bookfair! Since 2009, nearly 11 million people have visited. Come and experience her history, stories, and mission! You'll be able to meet the international crew, enjoy the café, and wander the massive bookfair. 📚☕

More than just a visit, it's a fantastic opportunity for our young people to connect with a global mission right here on our doorstep. The vision for the tour is to encourage the Church's response to God's call, raising a tide of faith and releasing a "wave of hope" across our nation and beyond. 🌊

Whether you are an Officer planning a brilliant summer outing for your Company, a student seeking inspiration, or a family wanting a great day out, you won't want to miss this. Come on board for:

• Gatherings for youth, young adults and students
• Seminars, training sessions, and Q&A panels
• Worship and prayer.
• And much more!

Invite your friends and family, and join us on board later this year!

📅 Dates: 10 July – 19 July

📣 Thank You – General Assembly Guard of Honour 💙

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to support the Guard of Honour for the Lord High Commissioner, Lady Elish Angiolini KC ahead of the Church of Scotland Sunday service at St Giles Cathedral, Edinburgh.

It was fantastic to see 32 young people on parade forming the Guard, with representation from Lanarkshire, Stirling, Dunfermline, and Edinburgh, Leith & District Battalion — as well as further representation within the Bands.

A special thanks must go to those involved from the Scotland Committee, and to the Adjutant of the parade, for their organisation and support in making the day run so smoothly.

We are also extremely grateful to Edinburgh New Town Church on George Street, Rev’d Dr Conor Fegan, and all the volunteers who welcomed the boys after the service and provided pizza and juice. The boys — and leaders! — thoroughly enjoyed the kindness and hospitality shown. 🍕🥤

We have included some photos from the day, with thanks and credit to the Church of Scotland for use of some of their images. More photo's can be seen on their page.

If anyone has any other photos from the day, please feel free to add them in the comments below. Also, please see the link in the comments to Haizhen’s Hut YouTube channel for a video of the parade.

📣 General Assembly Guard of Honour – Sunday 17 May 2026 💙

Edinburgh, Leith & District Battalion has once again been invited to provide a Guard of Honour for the Lord High Commissioner, Lady Elish Angiolini KC, prior to the Church of Scotland General Assembly worship at St Giles’ Cathedral.

This is a special honour for the Battalion and a fantastic opportunity for our young people to represent The Boys’ Brigade in Edinburgh alongside BB members from across Scotland.

Following the Guard of Honour, participants are also invited to attend the Church Service at The New Town Church on George Street, with refreshments available afterwards for those taking part.

We would love to see as many Companies represented as possible, helping us give a strong showing from Edinburgh, Leith & District Battalion on this important occasion.

📍 Assemble: St Giles Street
🕘 Time: 9:20am
📅 Date: Sunday 17 May 2026

📣 Catching Up Around The Boys’ Brigade in Edinburgh 💙

As Companies across the Battalion prepare for their Annual Awards and Parents’ Nights, we want to begin by saying a huge thank you to all the Boys and Girls who attend each week, and to every leader and volunteer who gives their time, energy and care to make The Boys’ Brigade in Edinburgh such a success.

It’s been a busy few months across our Edinburgh BB groups, with plenty of activities, achievements and adventures to celebrate!

1st Kirkliston Boys' Brigade 🧗
Anchors and Juniors have been scaling new heights with a brilliant visit to Clip ’n Climb - a fantastic activity full of challenge, fun and confidence-building.

14th Leith Boys' Brigade ⚓
The 14th have had a packed programme, including Mother’s Day cards, International Team Games, team challenges, Easter egg nests, an Easter scavenger hunt and even some creative fun with alphabet spaghetti!
A huge congratulations also goes to the 14th Leith Junior Section, who finished 68th out of 279 teams in the Junior International Team Games - beating last year’s placing of 88th. A fantastic achievement, especially with the highest-ever number of entries from across the BB world! 🌍👏

25th Edinburgh Boys' Brigade 🔐🏕️
Company Section enjoyed a brilliant breakout session at Escape Reality Edinburgh, with some teams escaping with only seconds to spare!
Their Junior Section also headed off to East Lothian for Easter Camp - head over to the 25th Edinburgh page to see all the photos from this year’s camp.

The Company Section have also been busy competing in the National Top Team Challenge. We won’t spoil their final placing just yet, as the Company will be announcing this at their Parents’ Night - but well done to all who took part!

48th Edinburgh Boys' Brigade 🏆
Well done to the 48th Company Boys who took part in this year’s Top Team Challenge. While they didn’t place quite as high as last year, it was still a very strong showing, finishing 115th and 213th out of 252 teams. A great effort from everyone involved, and something to be proud of! 💙

Best wishes to all Companies holding Annual Awards and Parents’ Nights over the coming weeks - we hope you have a fantastic time celebrating another great session.
