A Blackbird Sings is opening again for you to enjoy on 15th August. This diverse garden reflects East Lothian habitats and wildlife with heather moorland, grassland and woodland planting as well as wood carvings of local animals.

Come and see its ponds, water lilies, newts, waterfall and rockery; its cold conservatory with cacti and insectivorous plants; and its assortment of specimen trees, roses, ferns and paeonies.

If you can’t make it this time, A Blackbird Sings will be open again on the dates below and open by arrangement until 6th September.

This Saturday 15th August, explore the beautifully designed gardens at Archerfield Walled Garden where there is so much to see and do!

You’ll find a perennial meadow, cutting gardens, a potager, a productive polytunnel, light and dark borders, artist-in-residence's botanical casts, and a wildlife area with willow tunnels, a stumpery and pond.

There’ll be a children’s minibeast trail, garden tours at 12pm and 3pm, homemade bakes, flowers and garden produce, and a botanical casting exhibition.

Every Wednesday until 23rd September, you have the chance to explore Stobshiel House’s wonderful walled garden, shrubbery, pond, lawns and woodland areas.

Come along and see a fantastic array of perennials, roses, clematis and annuals against a backdrop of lush shrubs and mature trees.

This Wednesday, other Humbie gardens - Longwood and Humbie Dean - are also open so why not combine your visits!

This Wednesday 12th August, don’t miss the final opening of Longwood, an extensive, long-established country garden.

There are ducks and hens, streams and ponds, areas of wild garden, roses, vegetables, lawns and woodlands. Come along to see all this and stunning views over the Forth.

Other Humbie gardens - Humbie Dean and Stobsheil House - are also open so why not combine your visits!

Opening for the final time this Wednesday 12th August, discover Humbie Dean, a two-acre ornamental and wooded garden on a variety of levels, sandwiched between two burns.

With hosta, hellebores, perennial geraniums, primula, meconopsis, martagon lilies, clematis, spring bulbs, ground cover, herbaceous and shrub planting, a bluebell meadow, azaleas and rhododendrons: there’s lots to see throughout the season.

Other Humbie gardens - Longwood and Stobsheil House - are also open so why not combine your visits!

Explore the large wildlife-friendly garden at 39 Nantwich Drive, opening for charity on 1st and 2nd August.

The garden is run on organic principles and includes a mini orchard, pond, greenhouse, secret garden, vegetable allotment, compost area, worm and rotary bins, and mini woodland walks.

There are lots of interesting things to discover, don’t miss it!
