Friends of Midmar Paddock are developing a Local Place Plan for Midmar Paddock to make sure it remains unbuilt on publicly accessible open green space. To help with this, we would like you to answer the question below.
Local Place Plans are a new type of community-based plan which the City of Edinburgh Council is required to take into account in preparing the next city plan.
Midmar Paddock is designated in the recently adopted Edinburgh City Plan 2030 as Green Belt, a Local Nature Conservation Site, a Special Landscape Area and as Open Space.
The city planners have now started work on the Edinburgh City Plan 2040 and the Friends of Midmar Paddock want to see that the designations of Midmar Paddock in the Edinburgh City Plan 2030 are retained in the Edinburgh City Plan 2040.
The Friends of Midmar Paddock are required to prove support for our draft Local Place Plan to the city council by public consultation. Your answer to the following question will form part of that process.
The Question
Do you agree that Midmar Paddock:
- should remain unbuilt on publicly accessible open green space and - should be designated in the Edinburgh City Plan 2040 as Green Belt, as a Local Nature Conservation Site, a Special Landscape Area, and as Open Space?
To give your answer, please visit our website www.midmarpaddock.org/consultation and tick the YES/NO box there.
Hard copies of this flyer are available at Morningside Library where they can be completed and left at the reception desk.
