The Rock Trust

We are Scotland's youth homelessness charity. We want an end youth homelessness in Scotland No one version of support is appropriate for every person.

Rock Trust works with young people aged 16-25 who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. We advise, educate and support young people to enable them to build the personal skills and resources required to make a positive and healthy transition to adulthood. The services we offer young people have been developed to address the broad range of needs and experiences of young people, with an emphasis on creating choice. That is why our services range from long-term support for young people with very complex needs, such as those leaving care, to emergency support for young people in crisis, to a helping hand for young people who are simply struggling to access an expensive and competitive rental market.

This World Homeless Day, our team is highlighting some of the key figures from the latest Scottish homelessness statistics. With homelessness applications increasing by 10% since 2021–22, these figures show why more needs to be done to prevent homelessness before it happens.

Prevention is central to this work. Through our Upstream project, we work with schools to identify young people at risk of homelessness and take action early before they reach crisis point.

Every young person deserves the chance to build a future without homelessness. That’s why we’re working to make prevention possible, before homelessness starts.

Meet Chloe, Project Worker in our Perth team.

Chloe's role focuses on our Youth Boost project. She provides housing support for young people aged 16–25 to help them secure, maintain & sustain their tenancy and live independently.

In Chloe's words: The rewarding part is being there for them from the beginning when they first apply as homeless, working with them through that waiting period, and then seeing how excited they are when that offer of permanent housing comes through and being able to support them to help set all that up. I really do see their confidence grow in that time frame and it's lovely to see them believing in themselves more than they did in the beginning.

A massive thank you from all of us! 💙

It’s been a few weeks since we launched our Perth Hub, and we’ve been completely blown away by the generosity and support of local businesses and our community.

From the incredibly generous donation of a coffee machine from The Bean Shop and to every contribution to our food pantry from local businesses. A big shout out to the Perth Rotary Club, Tunnock's , Gloagburn Farm Shop and Cafe , Praveen Kumar and IP&L. Every item makes a real difference and helps us support young people in our community.

We’re so grateful to everyone who has helped us get our Perth Hub up and running. Thank you!

What is Bedrock?

Bedrock supports young people who are learning to live independently. This can mean having somewhere safe to live, learning everyday life skills, building confidence in managing independently, and getting support with education or employment.

By providing this support at the right time, the Bedrock team helps young people build the skills and confidence they need to move forward and prevent recurring homelessness.

Our Fife team is expanding and we are looking for two dedicated Project Workers to join the team.

Project Worker - (Short Term Housing Support) 18 hours per week.
Project Worker (Housing First for Youth) 35 hours per week.

You'll work directly with young people age 16-25 yrs to coordinate and provide emotional and practical support to avoid, resolve and move on from homelessness. As well as supporting young people into secure housing, employment opportunities, and ultimately independence.

No two days are the same at Rock Trust. We’re looking for an organised, approachable and adaptable Receptionist/Administrator to be the friendly face of our organisation and provide vital admin support across the charity.

From welcoming visitors and answering enquiries to managing meeting rooms, updating records, ordering supplies and supporting events, you’ll help keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes.

Kiltwalk 2026 over and out! 💙🥾

On Sunday, 13 wonderful people took on the Kiltwalk to raise funds for us and every step counts! From a wee wander to a mighty stride, we’re so grateful to everyone who got involved.

This year was extra special, with two of the young people we support getting involved and joining Amelie, our Hub Coordinator. As well as this, the brilliant team at Rettie raised £1,925 so far and also captured these fantastic snaps from the day.

What a day! 🎉

Yesterday, we celebrated the launch of our Perth Hub, the first hub of its kind in the area, supporting young people experiencing homelessness.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us to mark this special milestone, from community supporters and partners to friends, family and everyone who has helped make this possible.💙

We’re so excited to be expanding our services into Perth and Kinross bringing more support, resources and opportunities to young people across the area.
